I like how within 24 hrs of posting all the 4ws peeps out there respond. Just goes to show that this section was long over due and that rust as our cars may...they can't keep ALL our wheels straight.

4WS FTW!!

You can send it here and I'll test it j/k that would be a ton of work. these rear racks are built well and minus the inner shaft breaking on some AU's car, 19/20 problems with the 4ws are the timer unit under the passenger seat or something electrical.

You could test resistance of the stepper motor, visually inspect the condition of the hydro lines on top (i have replaced a set in every 4ws rack i installed) of the rack, and if you were so inclined you could pop out the 4ws hydraulic filter and see how dirty/inspect for shavings.

I would be more worried about purchasing a bum timer unit then a bum rear rack.
I was actually asking how to test the control box/timer units. The rear rack isnt a problem; even if it is bad, racks can be repaired. BEcause I think 4wsgt was the one I needed to test this for... (I just found it again in the attic too)

I do have a brand new one never used. Dealer price is outrageous. I have three or four bad ones. Every 4ws car i get has a bad timer unit. then i hunt them down.

Again with the pointless bashing. Gets old...

It's the unit I got from the car I stripped down at the junkyard. I cant test this spare unit without the 4ws working, unless someone can tell me how, if its even possible at all.
