need help with 4ws problem

hi i have an 89 mx6 and most of the time the 4ws light stays on, although sometimes goes out and a funny noise like an electric motor goes for a second of 2 then the light goes out again.
apparently the lady i bought it off has had it since brand new and it has always done it and the dealer cant fix it so yeah

any help or suggestions appreciated, cheers

Sounds like the controller box under the passenger seat.

yeah could be, i might be able to find a 2nd hand replacement but im not sure it will fix it.

anyone had similar problems and fixed it?

i have seen in a few posts people saying how they are easy to fix and they can fix the 1st gen systems no worries but so far havent found any details on actually how to fix it.

also my 4 wheel abs light comes on when i flog it (like gun it around corners or hit a bump under power)

i suspect the speed sensors but again im not keen to go swapping parts unless i know its going to fix the problem
