'96 626 Tranny Issue

Hi,

I'm experiencing some tranny issues and if anyone has any troubleshooting ideas I'd really apprciate some help.

I'm experiencing these issues in 5-10 minute spurt while driving on the freeway. My tranny seems to be downshifting into a lower gear. It will bounce back in forth between the correct gear and lower gears. My engine will be running around 2,750 RPMs and then bounce up to 3,500-4,000 RPMs and then fall back down.

Some simple and likely necessary maintenance fixes would be to flush the tranny fluid and change the filter. Other issues that I can come up with might be a belt, module, or governor issue.

If anyone has experienced this or has any ideas I'd appreciated you throwing them my way. Thanks!

it sounds remotely like its slipping but i doubt thats it...

first i would try flushing it and putting a new filter, gasket, and fluid...cheapest and quickest thing to do before you really rip into it...
