Good write up!
Just to add a few things...Make sure you ALWAYS disconnect the battery when dealing with ANY electical work on your car.
Secondly, DO NOT use the orange wire behind the dash(dimmer wire) this can cause problems with the gauges as they will not be getting a full 12v, and if you ever want to change the brightness of your dash lights this will mess with the power going into the gauges...You need to use a switched power wire such as running a lead from the parking lights or you can use the power wire that goes INTO the dimmer(sorry I dont know the color).
