rets.. dont let it get to you. tires can be wicked confusing, but like dyoel said there are different "bolt patterns" that are for different cars.. im currently running a set of 17" Motegi Mr7 wheels with a +40 offset and 205/40/r17 tires

now lets break down what i just said


17" wheels - obvious
+40 offset - the distance from the face of the wheel that the hub will contact the wheel
205/40/r17

the 205 is thw width of the tire, measured from inside sidewall to outside sidewall.

the 40 is a percentage of the 205. this meant that a tires that is a 195/40/17 will be thinner from tread to wheel (height of the rubber around the wheel) then a 205/40/17 is

and the R17 is the rim size denotation
