hey i jsut changed myne today
remember to use anti seize and make sure you gap them properly at .39-.43 any more or less and it can screw the fuel economy, also do an inspefction of the spark plug wires as well, i changed myne over today ($150)
the DE takes NGK ZFR5F-11 or motorcraft AGSP 33C (up to 1998)
i had good tools so it was easy jumping into the back ones, so in this case i will be changing them relativlly often so i wasnt going to waste my money on irridum ones because i will change them often enough, i would never leave it to 100k, so screw $22.
if you have trouble getting them startedtry using a piece of rubber hose, that helped me, it should grip well onto the spark plug so you can turn it, you should do a quick ass visual check on your distributor as well for cracks and carbon tracks etc.... beacsue that could be costly if you leave it.
With the spark plug wires look for sparks and cracks and [shizzle] while the engine is running, but make sure its cool before you change spark plugs/wires
Also if you are [fizzle]ign with the wires remember to number them or do them one at a time dont mix them up, if there is a lot of corrosion (white powdery stuff) then you might need to invest in some new wires (also dont bend the wires - it will snap the conductors)
