Rear Speaker Sizes

Does anyone know the size of the rear speakers in the '96 MX6? I'm buying a '96 but the guy is taking the aftermarket speakers he had in there. I don't want to be doing the long drive home without rear speakers, so want to take a couple with me.

I have heard the speakers are an odd size, but have received 3 different answers to the sizes: 5" x 7", 5" x 8", and 6" x 8". Does anyone out there know the actual size?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Joe

nope, 100% sure it's 6x8 for the front and the back, 5x7 will work also in case some companies don't make 6x8

These sizes are almost exclusive to ford and mazda i believe

The prospect of outsized profits leads people to exaggerate their own capabilities. In their minds. They pretend to themselves that they are in control of events where perhaps they are not. And it is always one's stance upon uncertain ground that invites the attention of one's enemies. or discourages it.

6x8 and 5x7 are interchangeable in our cars, either size will fit the front and back, as the front and back are the same size.

Dont buy 6x9s, they wont fit unless you mod it.

Those are my sexy babies. They pound. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for... top quality speakers.

I have two questions and the first one was already answered so I will just ask my second question in here. Boston gives out free 5 x 7 adapter kits with their component sets so I am going to assume this would fit in the 6 x 8 doors as per the answers in here..

The second question is, would the 5 1/4 component set be the largest I could fit in the front doors with these kits? (94 mx6)
6 1/2 speakers probably wouldn't fit if the widest the speaker can be is 6'' eh?
Thanks.

I'm ordering a Kicker 12" CVX sub soon and will probably get some of those Kicker 6x8's to go in the rear since I think one is blown. Anybody on here got the Compvx sub? I heard they are supposed to be pretty good for the price. Same watts and everything as the L7 but its round.

So if I build some brackets than I can fit in 5 1/4 speakers in the back? I did that with the from with 4x6's, just wanted to make sure that they will fit in the rear speaker spots.
Thanks
