Help- Sirius Satellite Radio Install
I am finishing up my satellite radio install and I dont want to use the big bulky cigarette lighter adapter. Anyone know the best place to tap into to get power to the satellite reciever? The cigarette lighter adapter that came with the satellite radio reads:
Input: DC 9-16V Output: DC5.2V, 1.5A Sorry, I dont know much about electronics.... |

What device do you have? All that matters is the power that your device actually requires. If it'll take 9-16volts, just simply cut the cig. adapter off. If it takes 5v in, that must mean there is an converter inside the cig adapter, and you'll need that adapter, so you're screwed.

I just bought a XM satellite receiver.
I'm in the same boat as Rawkey, i don't wanna use the bulky cigarette lighter thing. My thing IS 5 volts. Does anyone have pics or anything, or description on how to remove the bulky thing and wire it under the dash all nice and clean? |

Like I said before, For my Siruis they had a hardwire kit, to prevent ripping the cig adaptor apart I bought one and spliced it into the power for the cig lighter and then just ground out the ground somewhere near the shifter base. or w/e in an automatic. I know they sell a similar kit for XM as well..
