help

i just got my 1993 mx6 running again and i had to replace the antenna since it got broken off. so i added just a simple rubber mast one but when i plug it into the antenna plug on the cd player the cd player doesnt work no power to it. obiviously im doing something wrong so explored and found that the antenna has two wires i beleive, a small one and a larger one which i beleive is the antenna wire from the original one. so what does that small wire do? the cd player is an aftermarket one btw. so can someone please tell me a way to install the new antenna and make it work?

my guess would be that one wire is the signal wire and the other is a power wire for the antenna to go up and down. 2g's do have retractable antennas don't they? Anyways, if they do, there should be a short wire on your receiver's wiring harness thats labeled something along the lines of antenna. Stick a nut to mate those two wires together and you should be in business.
