Depends on how the box is built and what it's made of, but the overall concept is sound. Now, cutting the box in such a way that the center section cuts straight enough that the new end pieces go on airtight...

I have noticed that some speaker boxes that enclose two 12" speakers have a divder in the middle. My subwoofers recommend that i have 1.25 cubic feet of airspace for my speakers. Is that for per speaker or for both?? I also need to know what demensions my box needs to be.

That's very much most likely each - first, because there aren't very many - if ANY - 12's that will work well in a .625 ft^3 box, and secondly, I've never seen a woofer that rates recommended airspace in pairs, lol.

If you read the first post, you'll see all about divider/no divider and how to calculate airspace.

Yea I figured it was per speaker i entered the stats into this website and was saying like 15"x15"x12" with .5" thick wood. so I need a box that is 30" wide 30" high and 24" deep. Check out the website at Suboofer Enclosures - Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators
