Hmmmm interesting!

This would be along the list of mods id consider doing straight up until i get a new ecu with MAP.

A couple questions, ill see if anyone knows first before i go ahead and flame that woo guy with questions.

1. Turn around time on installation.
2. AFM, can this support upto 15psi?
3. Obviously cold start is still utilized, but is the procedure changed?
4. What fuel is this chip used on? 91, 95, 98, eth? or any?
5. Are there any Dyno Graphs or people i can speak to who have had this done who can comment?
6. Whats the timing procedure? say i install it, do i have to adjust my timing at all? (dont know procedure on mx6 yet)
7. Does he still do these?

1. Looking at prolly a week max install tiem including postage and all that he can usually do them over a weekend and have posted out the next day.
2. AFM is fine at 15psi I've had my car runnign about 18psi with the mod as a test (really need a bigger fuel pump for that)
3. Not too sure
4. 98 ron I believe since our cars are turbo and should really be run on it anyways
5. Ive just had a dyno run done in my car..Plenty of people on here have the chip and love it me included. Ive noticed a smoother talk bank, greater torque figures and more power.
6. Timing was fine on my car no need to adjust it.
7.Yes

Answered
2. AFM, can this support upto 15psi?
Well, no it can't. But what happens is, when the AFM is wide open the chip takes over and dumps a predetermined amount of fuel. Therefore the chip is set for really one type of setup. Vary from this setup and you can run into trouble.
3. Obviously cold start is still utilized, but is the procedure changed?
Doubt it.
4. What fuel is this chip used on? 91, 95, 98, eth? or any?
98
5. Are there any Dyno Graphs or people i can speak to who have had this done who can comment?
There are a few going around, you'll have to search, or check out the dyno posts in Important Info as well.
6. Whats the timing procedure? say i install it, do i have to adjust my timing at all? (dont know procedure on mx6 yet)
I'm not sure if Woo advances the timing in his chip at all. I know that other manufacturers like Chiptorque do (I have this chip). I have also advanced my base timing as well though. It's extremely simple to do.
See above in red.

thanks guys. we dont have 98 octane down tassie yet, but its similar to 95 anyway, and ive always used 95 other than 91 in all my cars bikes and 4 stroke engines. hell i even went to put it in a tractor until i realised i was after diesel lol.

timing is adjusted by distribuitor anyway so advancing is best.

Well i know what one of my first mods is!!! (after exhaust pod intercooler and BC)

Ensure you put a CAI on as well as the pod.

Well, I'm not 100% sure about this. But the ECU will advance the timing a certain amount as per it's timing map. I'm don't know if this is changed with Woo's chip, but it is on mine. I think if you are going to run more than what the ECU was designed for (91??) then if you advance the base timing (with the dizzy) then it could make use of the higher RON fuel and give you more power.

I'm guessing that since Woo recommends running higher than 91, that he might adjust the timing map. Or maybe he wants you to advance the timing yourself??

Can anyone confirm this?

judging with what was said, the core timing from 3500 rpm is adjusted in increasements. so base timing, in my opinion, is a matter of personal preferance. its not the only car in the world to retard as it gets into the core rev range to meet with regs, so id say he has stopped it retarding by adjusting.

mmm... I don't think I made myself clear (and after reading what was said again, I haven't read it in about 12 months).

I think I now have more questions than answers. I'll have a look through my manuals when I get bored because one of the things he said I'm pretty sure was in contradiction to what is in my manual.
