Post Dyno charts here...

Ok, after being a member here for a while now, I think it would be very very useful to have a thread just of Dyno runs... and minimum comentry.

What I am proposing is that people post their dyno chart, and then provide a list of mods over stock, and the age/condition of the engine as per below:

{ chart }

- Mod#1 (turbo: stock/T28 etc. if modified pls put down A/R's and trim etc)
- Mod#2
- Mod#3 etc...
- Condition of the engine (ie: Km's since last rebuild)

I think it if we could get Dyno charts for differant set-ups this would answer alot of questions about what people can expect from certain mods, especially with turbo's... Highflow IHI vs. T28 vs. T3 etc.

So, if you do have some mods and a Dyno run... PLEASE POST!!! and if you don't then dont! And if you're a moderator, could we try this out as a Sticky??

Oh, and if someone has a completely stock dyno run on an engine in good condition could they please post that aswell!

Then God spoke to me and said:

'Go forth and maketh the most of the MX6. Harness the power of the stock IHI turbo for this is best path. Reduce intake and exhaust restrictions. Install RAI. Dump and install camber kits to increase handling abilities. LSD for increased traction. Boost if necessary, thou beware not to fall to temptation.'

Ram-CAI, K&N Dop-in, 3" Xforce Cat, 2.5" Mandrel Cat Back with Lukey Muff, 16" Protege rims, Eibach Pro-kit, Woo's Chip, Torsen LSD!

This is the dyno sheet whilst it was running like a cow... The black line was with the stock turbo at 15psi and 2.5" press bent exhaust. Nothing else.

- Mod
T3/T4 - 12psi
Chiptorque ECU
Ported head
3" Mandrel exhaust
600x300x76 FMIC
Ported head
MSD ignition coil / Custom leads
Bad exhaust leak...
220000km engine

Different boost levels. Good to know 3psi picked up over 20kW ATW with a massive leak.

Fixed exhaust leak and got another 10kW. Not bad. I'm now running 14psi... no dyno plot though. Red line is stock turbo.

The dyno runs were run in 4th gear and the car made peak power at 5900rpm.The car was restricted by a [shizzle]ty cooler(2inch thick) and a 2,5" exhaust,as we turned the boost up to 16psi the car made 3 kw more.We just finished building a new engine(same specs as b4) and hopefully with new exhaust and a few other things i can hit 200kw with 15-16 psi.
I made the plenum and my mate did the welding, its easy to do,just keep the runners and bolt the new plenum on top.
here is the pic

This is the FE DOHC (NA)

This is a $500 2.2 that i put back in the MX for a while.
The turbo was worn and blew about 2 months later at 18 psi.

Stock engine with 2.5 inch system and boost at the begining was at 8 psi and topping out at about 16psi.

You will notice the saw tooth in most of the runs. Thats the factory BOV leaking. Pretty much everytime over 10 psi.

Also. Please excuse the spilt scotch.

And finally here is a reprint of the best run on that above graph.. 16 psi...

89 MX6. 4WS. FE DOHC Turbo. Garrett GT2876r Turbo. Wiesco Forgies. EMS 8860 ECU. 3 Inch Exhaust. Torsen Diff. 2500lb RX7 Clutch. 18 inch Rays Sebring ITC-S wheels. Cusco Camber Plates and Coilovers. Bosch 044 Pump. 750cc Injectors.
12.5 @ 115mph. 310hp (227kw) atw's

Rebuilt engine 8.5:1 compression, forged pistons, resized rods, prepped block (acid dipped, decked, hot tank cleaned), ported and polished head (fully rebuilt), stock fuel system, r33gtst turbo pushing 4.3psi, 2.5inch dump/ 3inch rest of the way, intercooler hardpipes on standard intercooler, [shizzle] 8mm leads (can see the miss fire on graph), poor state of tune (check out the afr's!!!), blown head gasket.

The TX5 is gone for now. Fairmont Ghia gets the job done!

The car had a half blocked non turbo ,single core, radiator when i bought it and i never noticed until i blew the motor up. Combination of heat ,rough tune and a few other things.
I dont know if the speed on the dyno wasnt right but i was in the car doing the 4th gear run .Took the car to another dyno day and in 4th gear made 173kw at 5900rpm stopping at 6200rpm making 1 kw less.
here is another dyno sheet with the vf22 ,FMIC,standard injectors and ecu on 7psi

Got this done a while back, pretty much average results for the mods, new dyno coming soon with any luck

ECU/Chip:
Chiptorque Chip installed by SAS, lifted boost cut and remapped fuel for up to 14psi.

Intake/Exhaust:
Cat-back 3inch Mandrel bent exhaust system with magnaflow off-set straight through muffler, installed by liverpool exhaust. Recently finished off exhaust with a high flow 3inch cat and 2.5inch dump pipe. Custom cold air intake system utilising pirtek hoses and a pod style air filter.
