If you want j-car and r in Perth let me know as I have a trade card.. And actually am on very good terms with all of the staff (I work there some times on there electrics) and in actual fact one of the staff (lowrider) is a member here 2... So low prices are assured..
If you aren't living on the edge...Your taking up to much space..
I use to get the best price staff discounted that's below trade price and let me tell you even at trade price they make a fortune.

I am STILL addicted to Porn. "MXSIX" out
Speaking of Jaycar, I just picked up the cateloge yesterday and have been eyeing the 2nd last page where all the performance car kits are.
I dunno how easy it is to install, but I love DIY projects
Just a few which caught my eye...
Digital Fuel Adjuster Kit - $80
Digital Pulse Adjuster Kit - $80
Independent Eelectronic Boost controller - $80
Hand controller for the above - $60
A\f display - $28
Digital a\f display - $63
I remember a post a number of weeks back regarding these kits. Shall we resume our discussion ?
Yes, Xmas has come early.
Cheers,
Steve
Well... I just called them regarding the electronic boost controller... and once again.. not expecting till later... this time end of DEC!! Looks like it wont be a happy XMAS for the turbs after all!
Then God spoke to me and said:
'Go forth and maketh the most of the MX6. Harness the power of the stock IHI turbo for this is best path. Reduce intake and exhaust restrictions. Install RAI. Dump and install camber kits to increase handling abilities. LSD for increased traction. Boost if necessary, thou beware not to fall to temptation.'
Hey boki, try going to Jb HiFi and haggle them down. Thats normally what I do. There is nothing 'wrong' with Jaycar, but if you ever try to sell them you can normally sell more well known brands for a higher price. JB will lower there prices... just try it.
$225 for jaycar...you can sell it for $150 no problems...$400 for any of the jb hifi brands, you'll sell it for maybe $280-$300...and the $400 one won't be any better than the jaycar one...
it's obvious which way to go
the 4x100 isn't very good...has audible hissing...the 2x150 is perfect however...and considering you'll struggle to make the amp work hard, the quality of the sound will be as good as your speakers can handle (or sub if you decide to use it for that)...
trust me - they are an excellent amp, hence why i bought 2!!! (one for my fronts, one bridged for my sub)

You can get 2 ch amps for less than $400 from JB HiFi, I paid $400 for my 4x150W amp (with a few other things with the total price over $1000, but still).
I have spent myself, and with friends over $10k on car audio (at the one JB store) and I often knock at least 25% off the ticketed price. Especially if you go for outdated stock, or say you will come back and buy other gear, or go in with a friend and buy other stuff. Remember they work on commission, and are able to lower prices on everything. I've also bought all my home stereo through them, saved 33% off the price (component gear... paid $1000 instead of $1500).
Like I said, JB will lower their prices. You just have to try.
I personally would take my Coustic amps over a Jaycar amp... just try.
are you saying your $400 (or less) coustic amp is putting out 4 x 150wrms at 4ohm?
the only 4 channel coustic amp i can find is a 4 x 100 which retails for like $460...so, you might be able to get that for $400 or so from jb but that's still way short of 4x 150wrms...
still, the point remains...the jaycar is better value for money...period...but it depends on what exactly someone needs in their system...if they want a single 4 channel amp then obviously the jaycar 2x150 isn't suitable...and the jaycar 4x100 i personally wouldn't touch (hissing noise as i mentioned)...
so, one 2 channel amp needed = jaycar
one 4 channel amp = coustic (they're good i agree)
4 channels (but happy to have 2 amps) - 2 x jaycar 2x150s
