Torsen LSD's... whos want's one?

Ive been contacted to make some Torsen LSD's for people here. Ive made them for other cars and there appears to be a need for them here?

Im trying to plan ahead and perhaps looking at making some LSD's next year....

They would be $1100ea, the time to make them last time nearly killed me, and by the time all the costs where added up especially the ones I paid freight on, it was barely worth while.....

I would need someone to give me a std diff or even a complete gearbox. There appears to be 2 different types so I will need to get the right one?

It was mentioned elsewhere here they would be $800. The previous ones I use to make where $900, material costs have gone up and so has my tolerance of giving up my private life....

Anyway let me know if anyones interested and throw me some numbers if so...

***EXACTLY WHAT GEARBOXES DO THE LSD'S NEED TO FIT?? I WILL NEED SOMEONE TO SUPPLY ME A SAMPLE OF WHAT IS NEEDED***

Interested List....

2- ausloki
3- chief tool
4- casejunkie
5- Jesiotrot
6- RichardCrawford
7- Gollywog

I would be interested in one. Always have been since the original BB thread. If you are in the Melbourne area I can provide a 'loan' complete turbo gearbox.

I'd be interested but at $1100 its a bit pricey, Don't get me wrong I'm sure they are worth it but I'd need a lot more information.

When next year were you expecting to start the production and how would long before you started supply? (to soon to xmas would be crippling for most)

Would you require a deposit up front? (how much and for how long would this be held before shipping completed product)

Where abouts in Australia are you and what sort of freight costs may be involved?

and finally do you have any pictures to explain in more detail the production process for us gearbox noobs

I am interested....I was on the original thread too...

I had contacted Quaife about about doing a one off and they didnt want to have a bar of it.

I assume you are going to do the one for the H-type...I have an H-type that you can borrow if your in the Sydney area.

I think just reading through this a few things are going to be need to be pointed out or at least set

1st- What is being made
For what model -
What will it fit

The original was for the H-series Box found on the 2.2L turbo from mazda. H box only in the Tx-5 turbo -626 turbo and Mx-6

This is a 12 bolt - Diff meaning it won't fit a N/A g series box found in most other mazdas of the the Time.

Anyone who thinks $1100 is alot - It's not considerign there are not Factory LSd's ever made and Effectivley not options - Quaife - Mainly only make the G-series LSD due to the number of gearbox' version made and number of cars it covers

don't worry your not being rude.

I said it in the last thread.

It's won't happen. Most owners don't have the income. People who take on Datto 1600's usually have more passion.

Mx-6's of all types are not high on the list.

I said it before it's not really worth it to anyone ans the last original creation cost people money on both sides.

IMO you should not go ahead with it - unless you get 10 definates that put in a materials cost deposit.

IMO - if your looking to make money - do it for a car with bigger interest and support.
You'd get more from hyundai excel owners.

I'd say give it a deadline and then decdie and MOVE ON. Waiting and hoping is not worth your time.
