There was an incident last night involving some high revs, high boost, and a cheap ebay blow off valve.
The circlip holding the bov in wasn't doing its job properly, so some silicone paste and cable ties were added to help. ![]() Car goes good, turbo is a little laggier than a stocker, but boost comes on hard and it pulls all the way to redline. Got some awesome induction noise too! I should have taken a video. |

I have a genuine version of that. Which is the previous model to what you have, that i dont really need.
Let me know if you need it. Atm it holds up to 300 whp. I am actually going to run without one for a while. Its this type. ![]() |

theorectically the Gv1124 as it has less features and can be considered less packed.
but due to osme changes in body - roof and HVC it's proberly very close. if I'did that conversion my 100KG saving would make a nice difference on spec I'm betting the Maroon one. but the GV1023 is still better looking. No sorry let me say that it's THE BEST LOOKING WAGON on this site. |

yep, the car is kinda fun. Has some angry wastegate sounds which is kinda weird considering it has no screamer pipe. I need to get a boost gauge into it, and get it on a dyno. It's running some kind of boost, with a T20 something or other.
Started pinging when i first put it together, So I just would the boost down untill the wastegate just started opening. No idea what boost it's running. Feel's pretty good though. Craig, PM sent. |

well I've got a long list of want things to do
but wha'ts holding me up is work. With the economic down turn - work is up & down - Up and Down. normally I would take time out now but due to some Health issues - like my wisdom teeth removal in hospital next week sometime. it's casues all sorts of drama MNy own wagon is still in body shop- they only just got the rear roof fixed along with making the rear hatch right. so effective the whole rear end is bare metal respray. then I've got the Mx-6 to do. I just bought a whole lot of corner lights for spares as I could only get new from mazda - front bar cover - re-inforcement bar - and few other plastic goodies. Plus my Custom Dog box by PPG - still in negotiations and investigations. Time is the issue. |

Well time for an update. The car has been fairly reliable to date. Minor problems include a leaking driveshaft seal in the gearbox, and a pinhole in the radiator metal return line.
I've always wanted to run a big cooler on the wagon, even 2 years ago when I first went looking for one. So the time has come. I found a complete setup to suit a 600 x 300 cooler with pipes etc. for $200. The piping was a little rough and some of the joiners were cheap and/or dodgy. I spent $3 on a can of flat black paint, about $40 on some new joiners and got to work. I used a flapper disc on the grinder to smooth out the messy welds. Only a quick job as I didn't have the time to bog and high fill the areas to get a perfect look and besides, it's the daily driver. I don't like the way that the car would run with or without a BOV, as it would splutter, bog down etc. After I fitted the AFM in the cooler pipes on the black car, there were no issues with any of this or air leaks. So I went ahead and mounted the AFM in the piping on the wagon. It meant that I had to cut out a section of piping to get it to fit. Another plus with this setup is I get to keep my air-con ![]() After all the pipes were tidied up and painted, it was all fitted into the wagon. I didn't have to cut the front bar up to fit it either, which I'm happy about. Also need to re-route the air intake to the turbo and make use of the area the airbox takes up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've found that due to the size of the piping and cooler, boost isn't as violent as before with the supra intercooler with 2" piping. But with the T25G and a turbotech boost controller, it still hits very hard and pulls right through to red line beautifully. I feel that this have improved drivability considerably. Also imported some Capella wagon door scuff plates, just as a finishing touch .![]() ![]() |
