It isn't in any way his fault at all. $$$ don't make up for hard work like that. Heads and/or car back or bust...

No thief would survive doing that to me either.

^^are you serious?

if you've got/had enough money to put that much work into a car...then drop a grand or two on insuring it.

anyone without insurance is a idiot

still his fault imo

You my friend are the idiot here. Having something stolen from you is NEVER your fault. Period.

You will find the same message with a red dot next to it if you look around.

okay.

you have 1million dollars sitting on the floor in your house

someone walks in, because the front door is open, and because you don't believe in locks.

someone takes all YOUR hard earned money..that you've left unprotected, and unguarded.

you shouldn't be angry..because you didn't TRY to stop them or make it difficult for them to take it.

you sir, are the idiot.

It may not be his fault it's stolen

but When you consider this.

YOu cna insure a car that is for static display and rare track use only with compnays like Shannons.
For under $300 a year.

How why?

Simple. I know people who have well I'll give you examples

a HK Monaro - GTS 327 original white. Historic registration - driven - almost never.
Valued last year assesed at $134,000. Reason it's got special numbers very LOW Km's etc. Orginal down to engine - oil I say.
owner only pays $600 a year. When he takes it out he calles them explains and last year Holden payed everything to have it displayed at Suttons Roseberry Dealership in sydney.

XY-GT- phase 2. - again worth something stupid only $400 because it sits in shed - until historic display days etc.

It's just like a house. Too many Fools have no House insurance

Take the average house in melbourne approx cost $400,000. Say in oh Ringwood simple place. You spend what $900 on home insurance for basic cover or depend. Home insurnace is cheap as, even if you are in bad place. Stolen car comes out of nowhere takes out front or house.
it's $20,000 damage.
Stolen car - Who pays. OWNER does.

Same as home contents insurance. costs little to add on.
Theif comes in steals - say easy items. Stereo - DVD players - Vidoe camera - your PC. If you have style your Chains - okay takes $4000 of your stuff.

Your telling me it's not worth having insurance.

Ask the poor people who didn't have insurance and Bushfire got them ?

Cars are highest risk

My Mates 1 or 18 VG Utes by HSV - was stolen out of a workshop in Sydney.
2 days later it had a small feature in Aussie Brutes Mag. Irony only one of his cars with no Tracking system. Lucky For insurance

You would rather be Sad and rich then Sad and poor ?

have to agree....the great irony of insurance....if you can afford not to have it, the cost of the premiums are not going to worry you.

I have seen it to a certain extent as legalised extortion....but all my [shizzle] is insured, as I cant afford it not to be. Its just one of those facts of life

I'm not saying it's a bad idea or that he shouldn't have. I am saying that it's not his fault, 5 bucks says the car was locked and the keys weren't in the ignition. I am saying that it is not his fault when he locks it up, locks it inside his shed and goes off to work. You can't say that because he decided to chance society in his part of OZ not being totally [fizzle]ed that he is an idiot or that it was his fault. If you do, you ARE an idiot (not you chief) and I hope your [shizzle] gets stolen, and returned, but not quite how it was such that your insurance doesn't cover it and you are left with whining gearbox bearings and a smokey exhaust...

My ute is in new zealand, its locked, the key is in england its inside a container with the door welded shut and two expensive padlocks on the door, its under armed guard, and its NOT insured. Is it my fault if someone steals it and all within? Fcuk no. If they do, they will be found and killed. That simple. Scum like that lose all rights in my books. If I'd left the key in it and one padlock on the door with no welding, my fault? Fcuk no. Get a brain you numb nuts. You sound like the sort of dude that might be doing the stealing ie, sees it from that perspective where if someone makes something look attractive they are asking for it. Well, [fizzle] you!.

omg that hurts to see that car and know it's been pinched. argh!!

He (Jesus) said: "Verily, I am a servant of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet;
And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me prayer, and charity, as long as I live.
And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.
And peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!" Qur'aan [19 (Mary):30-33]

it's sad everytime something gets stolen

I have to agree with Fred regarding mad_bison. It's not his fault that it got stolen. And another thing, that car is not stock meaning he has spent alot of time on it so what would the money matter really? If it's gone, it's gone and another car would be just another car.

It is often best practise to just assume stuff will get stolen. If you don't pay for insurance you should still be putting away cash equivalent to insurance payments (thats what self insured is).

Looks like an awesome ride, sucks that it was stolen.

ok its not his fault if it gets stolen... BUT it IS his fault when he looses the value of the car. (say its 50K)... then the 50k loss IS his fault. Like rod said, few hundred through shannons. My MX6 is done through shannons for about 900 a year, daily drive, 20yr old driver. 8K value.
When I start my clubman build it will also be insured through shannons as soon as there is something to insure (the chassis basically).

It's just not worth the risk not having insurance.
