having a car like that, where it's recognizable, and people know what type of car and where it is, and not insuring it is asking for trouble.

i had a racing bike i bought in japan stolen from uni. the ubar lock was CUT through, and this is outside of the student cafe.

i had it insured specifically...and insurance said..oh you're more than 1km from your house...not our fault.

i did everything i could to keep that bike safe, and it was stolen, and insurance didn't pay up.

however, i still think that he's an idiot for not having insurance.

still partly his fault imo

I would not say he's an idiot per say.

He Made the WRONG choice. That in some people's Eyes would make him an idiot.

but we all make choices.

No car is unstealable. Even with you in it. Ask the poor owner who have been car jacked.

The owner made a bad choice - A Rare car - A car that can be either moved onto off shore area and sold. Or it can be stripped clean and resold a hi profit of parts.

The Car was Hi-risk to Hi Quality Crooks.

In comparisson to say

a Mx-6 turbo- Hi-risk to - Low class crooks looking ofr parts
Hi risk to Joy ridders
Hi-risk to Drug induced Crooks - AKA drugo's
Low risk to the Tilt tray.

You may think he's fool but it's leason learned.

Next time He won't make the same mistake.

It's like Everytime they anounce a Hail storm - Insurance companys get massive influx of calls about Hail damage cover.

Some of you have noted You will find those people etc. I always laugh at that line.

Go over to parts of the Middle east, The Wreaking yards have cars stacked onto each other with VIC NSW and QLD plates on them. They were all transported over legally YES.

Just like the GT falcon that went missing worth $220,000 but they left the 1.2Million rolls royce next to it and moved a Lambo to get to it but didn't take it.

No keys were in the workshop either HIMM ?
You don't need them when you have a car transporter and shipping container.

If you really want to keep your car - Tracking system.
Don't listen to the stuff it does not work it does with 98% coverage.
It does work.

Just remember to make the Right choice in Life in regard to your car

the car still has not been found, the car was always insured until the last 2 years as he was getting it painted and the motor built, so it was not worth insuring cos it has been in bits for 2 years. only back on the road for about 2 months.
the thief (the real idiot) would want to have some sort of insurance when we get a hold of him

You say if oyu get hold of him

Most cars stolen like this - it's word of mouth.

OH yeah my mates doing this and that. or a oh yeah a mate or mate blah - yeah he lives down in collingwood near that pizza shop, Or yeah you know the guy with that blue WRX that cruises up and down chapel street. Yeah he's neighbours with this guy with this Wagon blah blah.

It's so easy to track. Yes It's easy don't ask how I know

Oh yeah and don't think not telling anyone will help either. It makes it worse, like what happened in sydney. Some guy 95% done EVO - GONE. never ran had the lot done box turbo ECU - only workshop and him knew about it GONE.

Inside job - maybe they could have made it easier for them selves. Proffessionals don't care for damage in getting to the prize.

It's like my mates VG - it had one of the rare 200 only built VN group A twin throttle body setups. Now it's rear and you have to note only 200 made originally - his was off a smashed one.
Whats to say a car turns up in QLD repaint or another holden with a similar engine like his. You can't say it's his or is not.

It's like clainming when you get them. again alot of the time around 60% of the time NO one get convicted for the direct steeling of cars.
Last bust in Sydney a wearhouse in smithfeild was full of both NEW brand new off the lot - they just lifted them from car yards. Plus others just stolen, turn out as fraud but how do you prove it.
No one was charged with the cars being stolen. So the actual people who broken itno peoples cars, Nothing.

The owner of the building leased it out - not his problem.

The lease Dummy Business with Dummy names and ABN. It's how the got caught, someone did the paper work. The Lease company got transfered and when things didn't pan out some investigations went on.

So the guy whos' monaro got stolen - he paid insurance but he's lost his Monaro, his wheels his what ever.
Whos' he going to go and bash ? the Mystery guy who singed the paper work. When question you know what they said to the investigating officer ( who I know - reason I know this - hates Jap cars )

One guy said - Oh he was of middle eastern appearance in like late 40's
The Realestate person who pased on the original paper work?
" oh he was young in early 30's tall thin"

Yes Alot to go on there ?

Unfortunatley when it's done right you never see anything again.

Only when the mistakes are made.
It's a joke but it's a fact. Worse part is these guys are moving away from places like Sydney. Because the cars they want are not in Sydney anymore.
So If your in the Gold Coast, start to pay attention

I don't think he's an idiot for not getting insured.

He (Jesus) said: "Verily, I am a servant of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet;
And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me prayer, and charity, as long as I live.
And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.
And peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!" Qur'aan [19 (Mary):30-33]

If the government had tougher laws on criminals, we might have less crime. But instead of chopping the thief's hand off, they slap him on his wrist. It's ridiculous. The problem is also in the society. There'd be no need for insuring your car against theft if the society was upright and 'civilised' as they like to call themselves. Jealousy, envy, greed, these are all diseases of the heart. People are nurturing their materialistic desires even if it means transgressing on someone elses rights, or even taking their lives, just to get what they want. What they are forgetting to nurture is their soul... and their hearts.

I completely agree.
I'd love for Australia to be more like Singapore...with $50 fines for dropping cigarette butts, death/life prison for all drug traffickers, $500 for littering. But, the Australian government are too scared to go back to a tough stance. They'd argue it'd place more and more pressure on an already overcrowded prison system. I've had my wallet and rent stolen...I've had a brand new bike i shipped over from Japan stolen...hell, i have mates in the mazda club who have had mazda parts stolen as they've sent them to each other. Basically, without taking the law into our own hands, there's not much we can do. Which means we can bitch and moan as much as we like, but the probability of things changing is still virtually nil. The best thing you can do, is to prevent (as much as you can) the risk and exposure of your possessions to being stolen. That sounds very self-centered...but in this world, if you don't look after yourself, then not many other people will.

It is not because the govt is too scared, it is because of 2 reasons.

1. Australia means freedom. There is only so much laws you can put on people before you restrict the freedom of people.
2. Australians would complain so hard. They already do. And I bet you do as well. Nanny state they cry when law makers try to do something about a problem. Knee jerk reaction etc. If I got a $500 fine for littering (not that I litter) I would probably crack heads. That is excessive.

What do you think about the alco pop tax increase??? That is something singapore would do, it is the more extreme restrictive type of law designed to regulate behaviour that would otherwise be restricting peoples free will to hurt themselves.

Dont get me wrong, I agree with where you are coming from, but you have no idea about the context of Australian society and what we expect if you expect those kind of laws here. It wont happen. People wont accept it. It isnt the gumbyments fault.

You are right you do have the right to express your opinion, and others have the right to negative karma you if they feel that opinion is offensive.
