Dude......
What can I say..search....there is a whole section based on the FE DOHC, and all the cars its gone in, mostly the 1G.
And yes somebody's put a BPT in one too, but I dont know why you'd bother, when its more effort and the engine is smaller capacity.
You can turbo the DOHC FE with great results.

I'd love to see a front wheeled SR20 conversion from a pulsar. Now that would be a conversion worth doing.
Have also read that the strength of the BPT's conrods are piss weak. http://www.fullboost.com.au/feature_...toryId=463&p=1

I'd agree with chief tool. Wouldn't you rather have the torque of the 2.2 and put the DOHC head on it? But i guess everyone wants something different...

Yes the "B" series engine internals are much smaller...if your going for max power, the crank journals and rods are much bigger on the "F" series"

The DOHC head wont go on the F2 block, but you can fit an F2 crank into the FE DOHC making it the same capacity as the F2...I am working on one of these for my GC

Thanks chief tool. I didn't know the head wasn't compatible.

So you're making a stroked FE DOHC 2.2L ? Has anyone one done that before? because that is a awesome [fizzle]ing idea!

the fe is a square head. the f2 is not. its like putting a square onto a rectangle. i was toying with the idea of going fe a while ago but id already spent money on getting piping etc done on the f2 and decided to stay with it. its not a bad motor at all. can take a [shizzle]load of abuse, its torquey, its strong. it just cant rev, which i think is its downfall. it depends on how much money you wanna spend with it. would you run it n/a, or would it be force fed? if you turbo it, the price will add up if you do it properly. ask craig. if i had the garage space id buy another mx6/626 and do the fe, but then if i had the garage space id buy a rotor and have that aswell haha.....

Aiming for the big 200...
89 626 turbo, rebuilt F2T,woo chip, hks ssqv, highflowed T3 ball bearing steel wheel 450hp rated turbo, oil drain straight to sump,3inch stainless dump to 3inch system, fmic, pod, braided oil and water lines, speedflow fittings, 17s,smoked taillights.....next up: Full Respray!

Yeah, there are a few people doing them in the DOHC thread....thats where I got the idea from. some turbo, some N/A.

At this stage the plan is for a lightly boosted engine..14psi max using a TD05H from an EVO4. Although if my plan to run it on E85 ever comes to fruition I may push for 20psi on a different turbo...we'll see where detonation limit will be.

Oh and the reason why the head doesnt fit....the oil galleries dont line up, there is a guy who made his own, but thats was alot of hard work

Which version of the TD05 is it ?

the split pulse exhaust housing like EVO 4-9 or the earlier vr4 style ?

if its the earlier EVO1-3 type you probably would need to loose the a/c

anything is possible to fit, check out my thread on fitting the Vf34 in 1G forced induction section....
But the thing is whether its worthwhile for you....sometimes your better off flogging an incompatible turbo on ebay and using the money to buy one that fits better.

Generally on the F2T your better of sticking to ones that people have fitted before, if you want to save some effort.

R33 type is one
Garrett T3 is another
IHI VF 22/30/34 another
various IHI hybrids of the Vj11

The DOHC head makes it a bit easier to use the TD05H, owing to the exhaust manfold pattern...I am using an EVO manifold on the DOHC
If your prepared to build your own manifold you can fit anything

GT 3071/R is a T2 flanged Garrett that has "loads" of potential i.e 400+ hp and spools early.

Worth adding to the list

Hey Barry. Good to see you around. Another decently sized turbo is a GT3582. Comes with a .58 housing right the way up to 1.16 housing.

Teh Telstar can NEVAH lose!
