Alarm Bulk Buy: Remote Start, Driver Paging etc.

Alarm Page

Guys,

I am importing the above alarm for use in my own car, and wondering if people would be keen for a bulk buy?

I can bring these in for around $340-350 australian landed. I believe it will take around 2 weeks. I will not be making money from this, just covering costs, or maybe making $10-15 by the time it's worked out.

There have been alot of these around lately, however this one will have black wiring so apparently should comply to Australian standards. There is a guy selling these now who is apparently going to have them complied. He is asking $475 for the black wiring version btw. Either way, as it stands they are not currently complied to Aus standards, which means you will not have them recognised by insurance companies, until they are. I'm not promising this will happen as its not up to me.

I'm happy with this, as I'm confident in it's abilities, and in my installation ability. The black wiring was the last sticking point I really wanted.

Anyone interested in a bulk buy? I'll be ordering mine either way, so if interested let me know.

Cheers,
Pete

I should also mention.

I would need a $50 deposit for this, as I would have to pay out of my pocket upfront the full amount to get them in the country.

I would prefer full-payment, but understand people not wanting to do that.

Cheers,
Pete

That alarm looked pretty good so I decided to find out some more information and this was their reply:

1. Does it have any spare inputs to accept things like a microwave sensor?

AWS: NO,But the standard set included with shock sensor (Vibration)

2. Is there some sort of safety device that will check if a manual car is in gear before it engages remote start?

AWS: NO ,But for manual car transmission in remote start function ,after engine turn off by key,the engine will still running until you press the lock button for arming and engine will stop. This is to ensure there is no gear before engages remote start.

3. Can you purchase a second non-LCD remote for it in case the LCD remote is lost?

YES, You can,and we will program for you. Our benxon is comes with transmitter learing prosess.

4. Does it come with a dual-stage shock sensor? NO

5. Will it control the car's central locking?
Yes,and when you start you car you can also control central lock and unlock

Just though I would share that bit of information with you guys.

It seems if you look around you seem to be getting the same sort of thing just packaged and branded differently.

The unit i am looking at seems to be just like most of the others, who knows which one to go for, i got to do more research.

Anyone actually know how good these Jaycar units are???

Anyone actually have or know anyone who has one installed??

Im interested in finding out.

Seems there are so many variations of the same type of alarm.

I have installed and used 3 different types of the Jaycar alarms, but not this model. I have found them to be very good.

I stand by what I first said. There are no units to my knowledge that have all these features for near this price. Most of the cheap good featured ones are not black wiring which I think is essential, otherwise you are wasting time.

The jaycar is more expensive plus doesnt have remote start or black wiring. The carmate ones are ok, but not black wiring, and not this price for these features.

The Boomerang is an excellent, excellent alarm, with great features and good quality. But well over $600 or even $800 if memory serves.

I still haven't seen anything better than the Benson, any1 else?

Not to bring you down pete but Remote start is just perfect or it to be stolen. No.1 you live in Sydney, first reaso nto have a good alarm
Don't think removeing Turbo badges and people will not look
people who steel cars like this know it's a turbo know it's got a good factory intercooler.
IMO flashpoint is the only one if installed correctly that is worth it.

I know you like these little features of LCD stuff
but remote start up Turbo timer setups give
scum the chance to jump in at time to turbo timer either brake the steering colum Key lock or just drive it up a tilt tray.
You may come out but 10 big or small guys come out and you ask what they are doing. Unless you have a Machine gun and the Balls to use it and kill them all you are going to be told to go inside. By the time the cops come car is stripped and parts sold what they don't want Bombed in a park.

All this stuff just helps.
How do I know

I put it this way Friends have told me You want anything just tell me where to find it and it's yours. I will not do it to good people but maybe to people I hate. Then Agian. I installed a stereo in a New MR2 had to do it with out the instructions What did I get a Stacker to add to the Wagon's Stereo Exact match too.

I don't care about the Wagon so a $500 or less alarm is nothing ot me but on the Mx-6. by the time you get pass the kills in the system you will be deaf.
I admit I was thinking of putting in a small explosive device on the side of the Auir-flow meter. When I was working a bit in the Outer WEST Penrith, but after that poor 14 year old kid had to tell the Cops I some how broke his Jaw. ANd was going to be charged. I decided to not do the whole blow it up thing. ANyway how was I to know kicking him in the face would hurt, or aleast let his mummy know what he did or I did.

I will admit I do like the Pager system but the whole remote start up, AM remote control, you don't need to know Rocket sience to build your own remote to open up other cars or you buy it for $500. Does cars house and garage door FM and AM and somthing about RF. Don't know if it does TV video as well.

The good thing is these cars are not popular with comon trade lets say but being rare it cna cost us all if people who know people Like I do. Try to take advantage.

Don't take this the wrong way guys just a warning.

Oh yeah a good cut is the Air/flow meter and gearbox if it's and Auto. Or enhancing other factory ones.
Wagon has lock on the auto enhanced by the fact you have to flick the switch.

Black wiring isnt really going to help much with the pro's.

I see it like this, you should have your central control unit for the alarm mounted out of the regular spots in the car.

Common spots are in the kick panels, under the steering console, in the engine bay etc.

Find a different out of the way spot to put this unit and half your issues are fixed.

Mount internal and External Sirens, mount them in hard to reach places. The thief may be able to rip off one siren and muffle its sound easily but the other unit is still going to be blareing unti he gets to it.

Then you can also cut short your colored wires and solder on black wires (in some alarms you can replace the wires from the original plug harnass)

But if a theif has enough time to get in your car, and find your control box and disarm the unit you may aswelll kiss your car goodbye, not even black wiring is going to help you with this.

Alarms are preventative measures, they are deterants, hopefully an alarm does its job and causes enough noise to p!ss off the thief and he takes off, also inturn attract enough attention by others aswell.

Alarms like the Viper who have those lovely warning speach recordings are a no go, nothing easier for a thief than an alarm that tells him what brand it is.

Just remember most installers are thieves themselves, they install these units so they know how to uninstall them. The majority all follow a set procedure when installing the alarms (all work the same way) so thieves know where to look for wires, control units, sirens and switches.

If your getting an installer to fit it in ask if they can modify how and where they put things, it may cost you a little more, but in the end it makes life harder for the criminal.

Anything to make it difficult for the criminal has to be a good thing.

Note that the jaycar alarm only has a range of 50 metres line of sight for monitoring which is peanuts.

The one I have only has a range of 200 metre line of sight and I still find it pathetic.
