New additions to the registry: Ripclaw, elizatree.

I also made changes to those with new info.

Meatplow, 308,000 km on your stock motor and still feeling strong? Sounds pretty good to me. You'll get a better response to your questions if you post in the appropriate forum/thread.

Well Jello, time for a little update I guess...
Can you throw in Eibach springs, Tokico Blues, the PT 17.5mm rear sway bar, and Goodyear Eagle GT-IIs (205/55R-15). Oh, and turns out my stock wheels are actually 15x6--for some reason the 626 got narrower rims with the same size tire.

Thanks.

1993 626 ES: Eibachs, Tokico Blues, PT 17.5mm sway bar, AWR trailing links, 15x7 ATS Comp Lites (13.5 lb), PRM, 65mm TB, Borla, RR-Racing inserts, custom short throw shifter, JDM 626 headlights.

Amendments made to others.

lowrad, parts-cars do not apply!

jduffett, the 626 used different style wheels? I thought they shared the same stock rims as the MX-6?

Well, styles are different for sure, but I had always assumed they were the same size, especially considering the stock tire size is the same. Turns out they're all 15x6 though...

Meatplow, your info in the registry has been updated.

Can you provide more details on your 8 lb. flywheel?

Are you still using the stock ECU? I finally installed a JDM ECU yesterday and can feel a definite gain with the swap. I hope to hit the dyno late August for some real numbers.

Have you dyno'd yet? It would be interesting to see what your combination of goodies produces at the wheels.

Dude, you don't wanna know the problem's I'm having with my car. First, I definatly notice a difference in HP. I've opened it up 4 or 5 times, but I'm trying to cut down since I have yet to fully break in the clutch.

Here are the problems I'm having.

1. When I mash the gas, there is a loud hissing noise. I had that before, but now its worse!

2. There is a loud fluttering sound as well when I mash the gas. Its much more prominent in the lower RPMs than higher, but its still noticable.

3. I'm sure that its a KL-ZE he installed, but since he's not my regular mechanic I'm wearing about his credibility. I'm not sure if it is truly an 8lbs MX-3 flywheel, or a dual plate clutch. I paid for a rebuilt tranny, but it still feels similar to my old one. I know the headers are new, but I have no way of telling whether they're Brospeed, or just some knockoff. The whole reason why I'm doubting his work is because it was all under the table to avoid paying taxes. I regret doing it, but what's done is done.

I'm using the old KL-03 ECU, since the mechanic told me that I'd only gain 5-7HP by switching. I live in Toronto and took an emissions test and failed yesterday, so I'm going there tommorow to see what he can do. I haven't dyno'd it yet, but I'm curious. My regular mechanic has one, so I might just take it there after my carbon removal from the cubustion chamber this weekend. There is more to this story, but I've written too much of an essay already! :P

you gain about 35-40 by switching to the jspec ECU if u have a KLZE installed
oh and mx3 flywheel weighs 15.5lb's, i dont think its possibe to get it down to 8lb's and still be strong enough.. 13 is reasonable for a lightened mx3 flywheel..

SilverLS,

So does that mean that without the chip, the ZE only produces 165, the same as the '03? Or it produces 235 with the chip, since the normal output of the ZE is 200HP with the 10:1 compression?

have the ZE and Chip will bring you up to 200hp, so your making somewhere between 165 and 200 without the chip, i am not sure what exactly it would be, ide guess no more than 180 though..
