No they can't.. NO COP can make you etest your car WHENEVER they want. Don't even argue, they can't. period. Etests are valid for 2 years. If you have a etest on your car fake or not, and it says pass... then its a pass in the system and thats the end of it.

The story about changing your address to get a sticker, this is true.. North of toronto which is the Haliburton county line, etest are not needed, so i know of people saying there reg address is there cottage so they don't need an etest.. If they change there address back, then YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a cop can see if it has a test or not on it.. and when he pulls ya over, see no etest on it, and sees your address on your license as NOT north of toronto, then YES thats getting caught. But most license bureaus see that on there system and usually make you get a permit so you can get an etest.. What happens here is the driver has a valid sticker, so he leaves with his new address on license, and just throws the temp out and hope his plates never get ran.

TADA. Thats HOWIE DO IT!

ok lets re-phrase that to "If they wanted to or could send you" as a theoretical situation... that only would prove your car CURRENTLY either passes or fails which does not prove your previous pass was faked because something could have broke since the previous test.

That is all i am pointing out.

There is no fake test to be proven unless you are re-registering your cars out of the E-test duristiction and back which only proved you avoided the test not faked it.

Still ,they can't ask you to get one either.. If your car says it valid, then you DON"T have to get one.. Cops CAN'T make you spend your money just so they can see if it will pass or not.. I think your getting confused with environmentalist who can pull you over and if you have one single leak in your exhaust, they can pull it off the road.. They also have a portable sniffer they use right when they pull you over.... thats how they get you.

i am not confused at all i am simply saying a theoretical situation that proving a false e-test is hard even IF they could make you re test that would prove nothing because test results change over time.

this thread is done
