Who saw this on news today? I heard about this from one of my friends, he got pull over in his RX7 and the cop that pull him over was a guy he knew from high school, the cop showed him on his computer how he got his e-test and told him if it was another cop he would have be screwed!!!!
I can not find it anymore!!!! The story is about people register their cars out of town to get the sticker and after a week they re-register their cars back to Toronto. The cops can tell every time they you change your address.

They can't tell if you have a fake etest...the results are sent directly to the MTO//Drive Clean. Its possible to run a ZE swapped MX6 as a hot rod because its got a different engine. That or run a 2 speed idle which doesn't measure NOX which is what ZE's are high on. Orrrr put the exhaust probe as far out of the tailpipe it will go...doesn't always work though. There is a possibility of getting a conditional pass for various reasons, like if you put 450 dollars into cats and other emission equipment repairs and still failed then you get a conditional pass...you can also get the tech to give you one illegally...either way theres no way for the cops to figure out unless they have direct access to the MTO//Drive Clean results.
you're saying the cop could tell it was a fake etest on the system? pleeeaase fix link cause when i need an etest there is no way my klze is passing
I sure hope that when it comes to getting your KLZE etested, that you are doing it correctly. This applies to ANY vehicle on the road today that doesn't have the original stock motor in the car.
YOu have to go to MAZDA or what ever car make you have and they have to give you a piece of paper stating that this motor IS NOT the original motor in this car and that the etest place MUST etest it in the 1980 standards. As in lower emission rules.
I have yet to see one fail under these rules.

it`s not the cops that book you 4 fake e test they call in MTO. they have e testing on the spot that`s how they nail you 4 fake e test.. as a hot road testing you gotta have papers where u bought the motor from show the e test guy or lady doing the test but WARNING not all places that do etesting will do a hot rod test you must ask first & like i said before provide a reciet or bill where the motor was purchesed from i know this because i was in the mists of getting a hot rod test done then i got rear ended so there goes my e testing days for now hope this helped some of you out there from my exp..... btw range mine did fail e test on the hot rod LMAO i think my o2 sensors were shot...
The guy at the Mazda shop told me to run it with methyl hydrate (or something to that sort)... and its pretty much a gaurenteed pass... but then to fill it right back up with premium... because that stuff runs crazy hot...

A fake e-test or "hot" one, is still done with a car, and run through the system, just not your car.......
so its BS that it could be shown as a fake. so I say, FAKE story!
Second, even with that, if you run into a roadside check from the MTO, your gonna be FUBAR if your car doesn't pass, and they actually do check your emmission equipment on your vehicle, and it better be there or it gets towed....

Yes.......I have had a fake one myself, but just for the fact I was rushed, and didn't have time to drive an hour away for them to test mine (on a floor model) as my car wouldn't go up the ramp.
(it would but the guy at ctc was a tool)

(probably a good thing at the time too, as I still had leaded race gas in the car)
So, yes, I did have a fake before (Once) and yes, my car passes fine, as i've had it done before too

They can really only tell when you try and Avoid Etesting by registering a car out of your area, then back again. This is not a fake test because it was never tested and wont be tested for 1 year after you register a vehicle in an area that has Etesting from an area which did not have the testing. Yes cops and insurance companies can see this and do catch you.
Ok as for any other ways to fake an E test
An officer can make you go e-test any time they want, but that only proves your car currently passes or fails. It does not prove your last PASS was faked unless they can prove you paid a guy to pass you etc. and it is not illegal or fake to run methyl hydrate or other additives to guarantee a Etest pass as far as i know.
