Lets See Your Transformation

So I'm bored and decided to start a thread. Lets see your car from day one to how it looks now or did. I know this car isn't mine anymore but i was just looking through all the pics and decided why not show the work involved.

Day 1

Put Tires on it, ones that came were bald.

SO I wanted to change the look, so added 17's.

But got really bored of that fast, and decided to go bigger.

As you can see, added the JSP spoiler.

Final sand was 600, then cut with 1000.
From first paint job to final, took 7 weeks and just over 20 grand.

THEN SOLD IT FOR $5500. Thanks for looking!

Go on .. i'll go next, just to bring the level of competition down somewhat you did a great job

I never made any bodywork changes to my 6, the costs in the UK for such work is high. Most of my modifications were made to the running gear, try to keep here looking std, but with a little extra underneath.

As she was. I had just got her back from a paint shop after having a few rust areas tended too, stone chips, scratches etc, and a good mopping. This alone cost me £350, so you can only guess the cost of the work carried out midrange's car in the UK.

First ever attempt at cleaning up the engine bay, CAI fitted, oil filter sandwich plate for the oil temp and pressure sender, and in-car gauges.

Then in the next 12 months i went all out...

Lowered on Tok 5 step illuminas and springs, SS exhaust, headers, de-cat, and the hybrid project.

and then cleaned up the hybrid install having obtained a ZE IAC to fit to my already enlarged DE throttle body, and fresh powdercoated cam covers, and some alloys.

And then the end ... how she ended up looking and goodbye old girl ..

Hey Oddball, can we get this moved to the Gallery? I'm sure we'll get more posts of transformations there. I want to see more!

Hey Oddball, what do you think about the oil filter sandwich plate vs. putting a T in the OPSU location for just oil pressure? I like the sandwich plate idea but was wondering if there are any drawbacks?

I went for the sandwich plate as i could not get a definate on the oil pressure sender thread, plus its tapered and i wanted temp too so needed two connections. This way you keep the warning light on the dash, and use the plate for the guages.

Fitment can be awkward of you dont have a deep socket, as i did'nt, and ended up using an adjustable wrench to tighten it. Never did get it completely tight and it spun slightly when changing the filters, but never leaked.

^^ tell me more about this. I would think if you put a plate in between your filter and your block, you would lose some oil pressure. More distance for the oil to travel correct.. I say this because i know the shorter the oil filter, the more oil pressure you have. the longer, the less... IS this what the plate serves?

<edit> i just read what i wrote and i am correcting myself. The shorter the oil filter, the more oil pressure. The bigger, you get less. This ONLY applies at startup... Once your engine is warm, the size of yoru oil filter will not change your oil pressure..

Nah no difference to oil pressure, its a similar sort of sandwich plate used to install an oil cooler, only the latter has other modifications.
