My family is from Norway. Family last name was Ufdahl but they dropped the Uf and became Dahl the other half was Ulving, half northern and half southern. My Great Great Grandfather and Uncle where sold into Slavery and shipped to South America to work the mines. They managed to steal some of the gems and started planning an escape. When they did they hide in town for a few days because the first place they looked for them was the mountain pass. After things calmed down they set out on foot through the Andes Mountains. They came up through Mexico and settled in San Francisco. To this day we have a very large cloth map in Portuguese with lots of Norwegian writing on it, an extremely long book/journal they kept, a ring with the left over gems from the slave mines, wire coil double barrel rifle, and some very strange carpenter work. Sheds full of these wooden photos with just about ever plant, monument, or scenic places in the world with matching books to go with them, it’s very strange. We haven’t ever been able to translate the Map and book because it’s written in Old Norwegian. Anyways I have no clue what you typed I’ve always wanted to learn the language. Guess Ill have to bust out the digi cam and take some pictures.
