Hi King2, and welcome to the forum..

Firstly, Ford NEVER made a Probe, but did do a lot of the design work, body and interior wise.. All Probes were built in Flat Rock, Michigan, by Mazda, later called AAC (A joint venture between Ford and Mazda) Although still in the same Mazda factory. Ford returned the favour by building a couple of cars on behalf of Mazda.. a Pickup (Ranger), and the 121 (fiesta)

It would look like yours is probably closer to a 1st Gen MX-6, (GD) although in reality, the two cars are quite different..
When it comes to the last generation of Probes, then they are very closely related to the 2nd Gen (or GE) MX-6

I would disagree on the 1gen probe and mx6 being different. Every mechanical piece on the car is the same. Interior and exterior is the only difference.

I say that, without noticing that you have a 91. The 91GT is alot different than the 88-90, which uses the same engine (f2t) as the mx6. So, I would be wrong, and Einstien would be right.

We never got the 1st gen Probe in the UK, so it's fair to say that I am not that keyed up on them..
