I found out this MAF conersion was possible and ran straight to the jy collecting all pieces necessary for the low price of 60$. I got most of the instructions too, but one part is missing.. they did not say exactly how to wire in the 96 Millenia JEA7 MAP sensor. It has four wires and I don't know where they go. Apparently, it wont work without the map hooked up, so someone please help me figure it out!
;)

My car - 96 Probe GT - KLZE -5 speed-lots and lots of mods

Maf conversion parts are from - 96 Millenia 2.5 atx ( KLL5 ecu, JEA7 map sensor, KL47 MAF sensor, IAT sensor, all pigtails)

Hello, I'm planning on doing the FE3 swap on a B2200 truck that I have, and while I know this isn't a B2200 forum there is a better knowledge base for the FE3.

What I want to do is stay carbureted. I can and will fabricate an intake for the FE3 for a carb.

Please don't turn this post into a debate of carbs vs EFI. If you like, and can tune an EFI system then that is great, more power to you.

Me, I have been working on cars for nearly 30 years now, and would rather stay with something I know like carbs.

If the Mazda FE3 does have a distributor would it work without the computer?

Thanks in advance.

Does somebody have some pictures or pointers where everything connects?

For example, DE TB has 3 bottum hoses. 2x for coolant lines, but the 3rd big one?? No idea.

Plus the intake has several vacuum sources, where do I need to hookup the brakebooster and PCV line ?

Thanks for the help !

Hey guys!! thanks for reading!

I previously had a thread asking about what gaskets to order for my Intake Manifold on my KLZE... This is because (for anyone who doesnt know) the KLZE intake manifold has larger "square" type port compared to the smaller "oval" shaped ones on the DE.. there are many pictures you can search to show this.. (if you go to google images and type in "KLZE KLDE Intake manifold" you will see what i mean)

Anyways on my previous thread someone informed me that 95 Mazda Millenia Gaskets (For the 2.5) have the square ports [that year only].. so i ordered the Gaskets for the millenia (from Garage Supply) and i ended up with what look like are DE intake manifold gaskets (oval smaller port type gaskets)
The part number for these gaskets are: JD117 (I ordered them for a 95 millenia but i believe they are the same thing as KLDE 93-97 MX-6 GASKETS)

Anyways, after ordering the Millenia gaskets and they were the wrong ones i went to 3 different Mazda dealerships to try and locate/find the part number for the KLZE Intake Manifold Gaskets... Not only did not one of the 3 Mazda dealerships (here in Ontario) know what a KLZE (KL31) motor was .. but one mazda dealership actually told me that MX-6's dont exsist in Japan (and this was after he apparently contacted Mazda Canada).. I then asked where this JDM KLZE motor came from (if not out of an MX-6 aka MS8s or a Pre-2000 Millenia (Eunos 800) in japan) and he failed to give me an answer.. Also I felt like asking where my JDM power folding mirrors, headlights, and foglights came from then if not from an mx-6 in japan.. however i was just frustrated at this point and wanted to leave...

I still cannot locate KLZE intake Manifold Gaskets or a part number. IF ANYONE can help it would be greatly appreciated.. I am tryin to finish this swap in the next week or two... but i need the gaskets.. karma for anyone who can help.. cheers.. thanks again guys.

2 days ago- My engine starts running a little hot. This has happened before, and I was told it was due to low oil. I didn't know that oil affected temp, but I added more oil and it quit overheating. The check engine light is on, but a shop tells me my car is fine, but if I want to pay $800 they can re-replace my water heater to make me feel better. They replaced it about 5 months ago. I also had it and my timing belt replaced about a year before that by a different shop.

Yesterday-It is REALLY hard to get my car into reverse and 1st gear and the clutch pedal is getting stuck down. I have to pull up on it and then push down before I can get into any gear which makes it hard to drive.

Today- It's still hard to get my car into any gear, especially 1st and reverse, but the check engine light goes off for a while and shifting gets way easier. Clutch pedal stops sticking for a bit. Then it gets even harder and starts shaking violently when I stop at a light and eventually dies. It does this a few more times when I am in gear(with clutch pedal pushed down). It doesn't die or shake when I am in neutral, but then it just is super hard to get it into gear. If I come to a complete stop in 1st with the clutch pushed down and get going again before the car dies, it shoots forward for a moment once I let off the brake (this is before I push on the gas or release the clutch). Then the e-brake light starts going on and off as I drive. It's only off when I am stopped. By the time I get hoom (10 min?) the e-brake light is on all of the time. There are no funny smells and my engine is not overheating. It starts fine, and has no problems driving when I don't have to shift or stop.

I have a 1997 MX-6 and it's a 6 cylinder engine. It has almost 150k on it. I take decent care of it. It is in need of an oil change, but I can't imagine that would cause these problems.
I tried to post this a second ago and the screen blanked out, so if this is double posted I am sorry. I'm not very good at forums

Thank you
Maggie

I have a 94 MX6 and just recently it has been chugging as though it wants to shut off when I idle at red lights, or stops. Then when I step on the gas, the temperature gauge goes completely off, to the cold side as it is when the car is shut off, then goes back to center position. It doesn't happen every time, only when I've driven it for a while. I'm also now getting a flashing air bag signal. I just had the car inspected, and the most recent oil change was 2 weeks ago which I have done consistently. Any thoughts or suggestions?

ok so i just bought another mx today,,, and well i got it for 400 didnt run guy says this is what happend,,,, it over heated on him and it shut off and he pulled it over and had it towed from there,,, now he had it towed to a mechanic who told him he stretched the timing belt,,,, so i pull it apart today and lined up the timing mark on the crank and the timing is all right, cams line up perfect,,,, now after that i did a compression check on the front 3 cylinders and none of them came above 60 psi, all 3 were 3-4 to 1,, so im guessing the heads are f*cked or he blew the head gasket,,, the nipple that comes off the the cap for overflow burst off and blew water everywhere,,, and when i pulled it apart to check the cam timing the bottom tenioner pully was stripped so the belt driving the water pump was way loose........ anyways i need some imput to help me confirm my theory or some advice as were else to be looking,,,,,, anyways thanks guys

Ok, so I'm trying to fix my KL-DE.

This time, the cheapo timing belt I bought at Rockauto.com lost half its teeth, so I decided to cut to the chase, and buy a Dayco belt at AAP.

But then, when I was about to install the new belt, I realized I may have been making a big mistake.
So here it is:
When you look at the camshaft sprockets, there's a letter and an arrow on one of the radiuses on each one. Then, on the lip of the sprocket there's a yellow paint mark. On the left sprocket, the arrow and the paint mark pretty much coincide, but on the right one, they're almost opposite to one another.
So I've been using the arrows as timing marks. Did I do it right, or should I have used the paint dots?

Thanks in advance...:)
