nice, i've been working on my sump all afternoon, dicing and slicing and eventually joining some of it back together. that f2t windage tray is now very close friends with the b2000 oil pickup ;-)

i would change a couple of things to make it "perfect"

i would decrease the size of the holes by 1mm each such that the end two locate it accurately and the rest have clearance (thats what i thought i had)

i would add tangental starts to the holes and ports such that the laser doesnt make a slight mess as it bores the initial hole...

and of course, you could make the ports larger or smaller if you wanted to use different than 44.5 pipe...

its only got about +- 0.5mm play on the two end studs. and even at the worst it will be centred well enough. i'm just a fussy bastard. i wont be doing these changes to the file though, i'll leave that up to future users.

free plug for the company because i thought it was nice n cheap, and good quality work.

it cost me 41 nz dollars to be cut at north shore laser including material.

http://www.northshorelaser.co.nz/

its slightly bowed, but not badly, i may see if it bolts up ok before i have it machined flat. we will see how it looks after welding. if i'm cunning, the welds might pull it straight!

steel is heavy, dont forget the postage, and a possible lack of willingness to take credit cards and ship to the US. no harm in trying though :-)

if you are going to ask them to mess around with shipping it might pay to order in batches to reduce the overheads for them.

If you're in the US you can contact Sam at http://bmcrace.com/ or http://www.jg-fab.com/ same company. They're located in Houston Tx.

Want to learn a neat trick and do away with pesky filesharing services??

use winrar to pack the DXF files, individually or all in one. Then make images of the DXF files and then, at command prompt, enter
Code:
copy /B "image files.jpg" + "packed DXFs.rar" "images and files.jpg"
First two filenames must obviously match the files you are using, and the order is vital. The /B selector is required, otherwise the file will not come out right. The third filename is your result file, where the two files are merged in order.

You will now have "images and files.jpg" that will appear as regular jpeg image that you can upload to image servers like imageshack, but if you rename it to "images and files.rar" it will open as regular RAR files where you can extract the DXF files!

just click view the image, copy onto your computer, rename it to .rar and you will find the DXF within.

Thus concludes out first "steganography 101" lesson...

Nice work Fred, appreciated!

Is there a sump flange on file somewhere? Would save me a few dollars on getting mine cut.
