i thought i'd post the inducer exducer major minor diameters here for anyone google searching the holset he351cw as this thread comes up quite high in such a search anyway.

inducer : 58.6 minor 84.6 major
exducer : 57.7 minor 64.8 major

Edit :

This might be a more correct way to spec it :

compressor
inducer : 58.6
exducer : 84.6

turbine
exducer 57.7
inducer 64.8

End edit.

the compressor inlet is 4" OD and the outlet is 2.75" OD the outlet ID is 58mm

those figures taken from the link above and metricised with google calc.

the exhaust vband is a unique size. if you pick one up without it, be sure to have facilities to turn your own on a lathe. i got lucky with that. i dont have the part number of the vband clamp that is correct for the output, but i will post it when i get back home.

in terms of a pure garret, thats comparable to gt3582r for both compressor and exhaust which is rated at 400 - 600 crank hp and the compressor alone is comparrable to the gt3776 gt3782 gt4082 which are rated to (not),550hp, 575hp respectively, but the holset has a smaller exhaust wheel than those.

hopefully that pops up in someones googling in the future and helps them out.

fred.

154.323584 / 1.9 - Google Search

I just calculated this for a post on another board so I thought I'd post it up here too.

For my wastegate to open even a little without intake assistance the exhaust manifold pressure would need to hit about 81psi. Obviously if the hose falls off, the engine or turbo IS going to die if you keep your foot in it...

Fred.

EXHAUST PRESSURE, Comp nuts. Inside the exhaust manifold. The spring can only hold so mutch pressure befor the wastegate opens on its own.
