Brand new 1998 GSXR 750 throttles, rx7 550cc injectors, and FPR.

just for pics mainly, here they are :

i took some measurements aswell, but not with me now. the rx7 injectors fit the gsxr perfectly, just requiring a spacer for the rail. the diameter in the rail is about 0.5 m- 1 mm bigger than the fe3 ones... i still havent decided what to do about a manifold for the inlet side. i may have a fit up and decision session this weekend depending on what else i do and dont get done....

enjoy.

What does Suzuki use to meter the air with individual TB's ?

Those runners are so short because they are tuned to 13000 rpm. I think they are too short for an FE3. You would have no bottom or midrange.

for a start, i dont want any bottom or midrange :-)

secondly, its only a ve thing, it will still do 90% or so with wrong runners, but with right runners, you can exceed 100% ve. so maybe 10 - 20% less torque out of the power band.

as for suzi, i'd say alpha n blended with map like the new ms2 extra code. it has a map line out of it, and a tps, thats all you need.

as for runner length, even stock, there is more runner than that. on top of that, i will have a plenum with stacks, and a flange with stubs, the length will be around 2 - 4 times that depending on what i do and whether you include the ports in the head themselves (which you should for calculations...)

i havent decided if i can/will use them yet.... if i can fit them and the ID is large enough, i will use them. if not, they can either be stored, or sold i guess. time and money are understandably quite short in supply at the moment.

Becareful with that FPR. I had one many years ago that was identical to the one you have made by OBX and the plastic diafram go pinched and never worked right. Also that fuel pressure guage was painfully inaccurate. FYI.

I eneded up selling it for like $25 and buying an AEM FPR and now currently have a Marshall silicon filled gauge much better.

An sorry for my ingnorance but what are the TBs for? Thought you were turbo?

Thanks for the heads up on the guage and reg, i'll bear that in mind. i also have the stockers (could use more than one to achieve the same flow) and the weber from the UK.

the plastic diaphram is fine at the mo, and i assembled it, and thus it isnt pinched now.

GTR skylines have ITBs, and two turbos. they are quite quick and have great throttle response. in answer, : throttle response. IF i can use them.

I hope so.

Looks definitely sexy. I'm interested how the alpha blend mode works out, ITB + MAP + turbo is always a bit dodgy combination :/

Thumbs up

ITB's woo hoo! you guys might have seen the post about mine a LONG time ago, http://www.mx6.com/forums/fe-dohc/14...s-fe-dohc.html (quad throttle bodies on an FE-DOHC...) a lot has changed since then but havent got much tuning time(stationed in germany, in iraq AGAIN now) but if you need some help/advice, drop me a PM. One thing I can tell ya, definitely use TPS in your fuel mapping. TPS/MAP blend is would be perfect since youre potentially going turbo with them. dont know too much about MS since I use SDS, but Im sure youve figured it all out. Im running a straight TPS based fuel map, but Im NA, so...As far as mounting, I initially used rubber couplings to test fit everything, much in the same way the bikes and the honda guys that do it this way have theirs. It ran kinda rough like that but it was due to the required bend/rough connection I needed at the time. Not a big issue, only a test fit. Its been since welded to part of the stock IM, a lot smoother connection. Since yours came from a bike, you should be able to get away with using couplings. Anything I can help with, let me know!

FE3....and its staying NA
