http://www.mx6.com/forums/1g-mx6-oth...n-chamber.html (P&P on my combustion chamber...)

Julios pistons were .040 over 87mm for the GT. Not forged so the compression ratio of the pistons themselves wasn't known when he ordered them.

Interesting....I never knew about the perspex trick, i usually use steel ruler on edge across the face, and when the fluid touches the edge its on the money.

I like the pipette as it measures the amount of fluid going in to the space....it's way more accurate than you need for compression, maybe not for NASCAR rules.

I'll have too keep those figures written down. head 49cc, turbo piston dish 25cc

when I back check my figures against those....if there was no head gasket thickness taken into account, the figures from the thread sick added would indicate a c/r of 8.38, but we know its 7.8 according to the factory.

according to my figure of 17.8cc using 49cc for head volume I get a c/r of 9.17, which is 0.79 points higher...

the factory c/r of 8.6 is 0.8 points higher than the turbo, so I'd say my measurements are pretty accurate.

Is there any chance you'd be willing to CC those pistons? A medicine syrine and water with food coloring is all you'd need. (just clean them up, pour the water in the dish and pull it back out with a syringe, then tell us the numbers)
Has anyone done this yet? I didnt see anywhere in here where they did...

If so, I can do it tomorrow with my old set of F2t pistons.

go for it anyway, a cross ref of one dodgy internet dude against another is always a good thing to have

tried to read it quickly, must have missed that bit....but if they were meant to be OEM replacements, the manufacturer would have tried to keep the specs as close to factory as possible.

yes.......there is nothing like measuring it yourself to confirm when the time comes. all the figures I would take as a guide only.

I wasnt implying that you were dodgy :-) just that the more measurements that confirm the same figure are available, the better :-)
