simple, the admin on msefi is a total [fizzle]ing wanker called lance. it is banned to mention msextra on msefi because of the chip on his shoulder about the msextra devs.

spend your time reading MSx/Extra EFI :: Index and its manuals and posting there, and you will be a lot happier.

MS2/Extra Manual Index is the manual for ms2e

ive got everything assembled on the board with the exception of only a few components. im gonna run a MS1 v3.0 with high resolution code.....

for those running stock igniter/coil/disty, did you opt to use the high current ignition output (vb921) straight from the board, or go with your stock ignitor?

would there be any benefit in running off the MS as opposed to the stock?

no, quite the opposite, the vb921 units are fragile.

high res is only for high impedance. just so that you know...

i used four stock ignitors to power four stock coils.

the power you want almost demands wasted spark though. the signal is good enough for cop like amd did too. without cdi (which you should avoid if poss) you will probably struggle to use one coil to 7500rpm and high boost that you intend to run.

i thought for fairness of info, you might like to hear about some other options too:

VEMS, more $$$$$$$ more features, more io, faster cpu, little support, unfriendly creature. code finished and not in development. devs hated by original ms people.

Versatile Engine Management Systems - www.vems.hu

this lot are manufacturing their own too, but the same code runs on them. the original ms croud hate these guys too, and they are also more $$$ but nothing more performance wise at all.

Welcome To M-Tech Automotive Limited | Suppliers of MegaSquirt and Throttle Body Systems

this was officially allowed by lance to occur (not only an arsehole, but also stupid) :

MiniMs Website

its a minaturised version that runs with the early code and has a wideband on board.

i recommend ms2/v3.0 because of the level of support and active ready to help devs among other reasons. this despite being banned by them from all sites :-)

just thought i'd spread some info for you all.

fred.

Just make sure you check important stuff with the site again. Errors dont get fixed on your hard copy ;-)

lyriciisisist, i'm not saying you cant do it with one coil, just that you may have misfires under heavy load/high revs. you can always redo it as wasted spark then if dizzy makes getting up and running easier....
