this is the sort of circuit i was thinking of creating for ignition for the combustion chamber. i'm pretty much set on doing the borg warner TT setup now, but fiddling with turbojet als would still be fun at some stage.

should track down that ign thread and link that vid there too to illustrate why cop is soooo much better.

fred.

What bugs me though, is that it's actually really simple, and that is were the beauty of it lies, most anyone that can do a single turbo setup could do this with a bit of a helping online hand. Someone brave step up to the plate :-)

Thanks for the kind words. It doesn't make me any less bored though :-(

Currently i am waiting for the true 2.0 intake from Dutch and once i get my f2t up and running on ms i will proceed with the swap. Mabe i will have some time this weekenfd to fab up my down pipe and mount the turbo, timing belt and prime the engine. The pore thing has set for 4 months with out even a single crank. I need to lube the cylinder walls and rotate it a little. The problem is my girlfriends car takes up most of my time. Her brother changed the water pump around christmas and it hasn't ran rite since, he messed up the timing. Then it started having problems with the fuel pump circut. LAst night i had a two hour long conversation with a Ford Technition who pointed me in the right dirrection.

mine will be as dry as a 70 year old when I get back after 2 years! I hope it's ok, if I have to pull the engine... I'll likely do all sorts or random [shizzle] to the whole car... and therefore never finish it.

Which timing did he mess up? Ignition or cam? I did a water pump and cambelt swap on my sisters B5 sohc mazda 323 in about an hour from drive in to drive out once. SO easy to work on. Then she sold it. Typical.

He allowed the exhaust cam to jump forward one tooth. It took me a week to figure it out once i diagnosed the rest of the cel codes the car was throwing. The next thing i would like to do is also some fancy painting, and figure out what would be the best option for my 2.0 intake. I have an idea or two but i am not sure yet what i will do to it, open to suggestions though.

How much power do you want?? stock will make 150 - 500 or more, 300+ will be made more easily with a new betterererer manifold or a heavily modded stocker I guess. I can't honestly say that I would make my own mani if I was fwd. It would still be worth it, but you can just ignore it and turn up the boost a bit more instead.

i plan to run 20-25 lbs after breakin and look for 450 at the wheels. Yes i know i will break a lot of stuff in the process. The thing i want the most out of the 2.0 intake is better flow than my F8 long runner style. The low end power would be nice if i keep the vics though.

If you break stuff, and its an engine part, it most likely comes down to tune or assembly. 9/10 tune in my experience watching people on this site blow up f2t after f2t while some msed ones roll on for many miles happily. STW is doing a nice job of keeping vics and increasing flow. Schwine has done away with the vics all together I think and gone for only top end from it. cam22t also did something with his stock mani, but i forget what.

The f8dohc one is a bit small for good power though. You could still make good power with it, but not great power.

breaking gearbox bits is expected. at least you have that f2t box to handle some decent torque. the one the KL dudes use is just rubbish really.

I don't know, but I believe it is the bmw diesel in the large picture that I linked today. Certainly it is similar to that.
