they looked identical, minus the slightly shorter length due to the fact that they were from a 77mm stroke F8.

I thought you were talking about the original F8 DOHC rods....It'd be interesting to know how long they are...

I was aware that the FE 8v rods are 152 compared to the FE3 rods at 150.

I might expect that the F8 DOHC rods would be longer than 152 but shorter than an F2 rod which is 158.

Dont ask me how those lauging icons got in there, thats not meant to happen!

LOL

if pin and deck heights are the same, then the rod must be 154.5mm in length right.

( 86 - 77 ) / 2 + 150 = 154.5

Ok so here it is
Cranckshaft lobe 54mm
Wrist pin lobe 21.95
Inside to inside 116.5
so i came up with a length of 154.5mm for the F8-DOHC rods.

ya that is why i went with the 626 rods. if you look for "the golden ratio" thread you will find where we were all talking about the rod to stroke ratio of the golden ratio of efficent design. The end was Sick however refering to Mayard's golden rod. Ya it was pretty funny though.
