Hey Man,

Great to see that the project is going good.
So it is gonna be a 2.2 Turbo DOHC right?

Question:
Do you still have the parts from the F8-DOHC?
Pistons , crankshaft etc ...

I think I might need that soon.

Peace

you will find this funny

this is the factory d16A6 piston and rod vs factory f8-dohc piston and rod
the diffrence in displacement is .2L and the honda engine is rated at 112hp and the f8 is 115 so why are the rods soooooooo mutch thickre and stronger because in the effort to increase their fuel economey by reducing the rotating mass weight they made a really weak bottom end. My reason behind my saying HONDAs SUCK.

honda doesnt suck, the d engines are transport solutions and nothing more. mazda chose back then to over engineer its machines. honda were just ahead of the game.

dont confuse a bunch of idiots driving around rice in an arrogant manor with the car company being crap. because its not.

in essence, a manufacturer that provides you with significant margins for heavy mods (strong drivetrains, big rods, large journals etc) has failed in its first intent to do well in the market it was trying to compete in.

pencil rods are a good thing at high rpm with NA loads.

Sorry, let me resate.

i have just seen a lot of snaped honda rods in the past and figured it was a solution to fuel eficency but "kids" with rice on the brain dont think to build an engine for performance instead of using one that just revs to 8500. So i have a problem with the HONDA "kids" not the company its self. Thanks for putting me in my place Fred.

sorry man :-)

i have a strong dislike with a lot of honda kids too, and we dont even have that many in nz. there is a definite arrogance from certain car groups with regards their cars being way better than all others. i dont like it from any of them. i like nissans, hondas (well, their engines, and the s2k anyway) toyotas, mazdas, and aircooled vws. i'd be partial to other stuff too if it wasnt for various things that make them unaccepatble to me, like excessive cost to performance ratio etc.

you could say that mazda kids dont think too much about their engines often either.

you couldnt count on your fingers and toes the f2ts that have been killed on this site with the "turn up the boost bro, it'll be sweet" mentality. rods didnt fail, but headgaskets and pistons frequently did.

anyway, sorry for being a bit blunt with it.

glad you took it well!

fred.
