Well, I've never seen a fwd oil light on under any conditions on or off the track. Yes there are other benefits, but that is the one of the highest concern, the others are just nice to have. It's a lot of expense and complexity to add for "nice to have" if you ask me, but I would LOVE to see it on there :-)

ps, you forgot to capitalise "lot" > "...are a LOT less than..."

;-)

Well they're actually made for the Miata but the maker has posted them for the 323 B6 as well as posted that he'd make other sets if there was genuine interest. Here's an example:

And here is the maker:

Exactly, it's a "nice to have", I'm just wondering if it's nice enough to blow a grand on it... I don't need to install it right away, that's easy enough to do while the engine is in the car and yeah, a LOT less.

I asked for a quote on the HLA's from the local Mazda dealer. It's

$118.55

for one.

At least that made it very clear how to proceed with the lifters.

Not the same as the F2T, and I don't think KIA would be significantly less expensive. Sportages aren't that common around here.

I'll first try to clean them, and then see what to do next.

Speaking about cleaning, I gave a good soak on the parts in strong cleaning agent. Took quite a bit of the grime off.

The VICS looks like it could use a bit of porting and intake radiusing. I was thinking about cleaning all the ports on the manifold, open the VICS chamber, radius the intakes and keep the butterflies. There's quite sharp corners that really interfere with the flow. An obsessed builder might fabricate a radiused insert over the VICS ports to further improve the flow.

Since you're going turbo, take that vics crap out. It doesn't help at all. I noticed a huge difference when I removed mine. You can look on my cardomain link to see what I did to mine, you don't have to go that far but at least take the butterflies out and some of the wall.

That's not how it works. Stock manifold works best at low RPM, VICS was added for increased flow. F8 head which lacks the option will not have the flow VICS version has, ever.

If the VICS chamber breathing can be made sufficient, then having functional VICS is no hinderance. On the contrary, since there's really little boost up to 3500 RPM, having a functional VICS is a real benefit. Each butterfly is 42mm in diameter, they're rather large. If the chamber breathing can be improved, so can be high rpm/boost breathing.

Bottom line? VICS stays. It's not debatable.

to each his own, it will help the low end but i think for big power with a large turbo, removing it would be more benificial.
Just so you know, I am not trying to start an argument with you. I respect everyone's opinion, especially yours Karri. Thats why I post on here, to get other people's opinons on my thoughts.
