There's always Bad news...

well after I got the wiring hooked up i cranked the motor over to check compression today and I got 30-60-150-90... pretty much the same as when I took the motor apart. Did a leak down test, and pretty much every intake valve is leaking bad. I must have bent some valves when I over reved the motor. It's weird cause there is no marks on the pistons. I have an extra complete set of kia valves, I may just lap them and put them in for now. I really don't have the money right now to do a complete valve job. I also have an extra head so I may put the vr6 spring and intake keepers on it and use the extra one. The only good thing about the head I just took off is that its got a nice port job.... I got a lot of thinking to do...

get some course, medium, and fine lapping compound and give them all a going over. you should be able to get them to seal well enough.

Make sure you keep the valves in order when you do that. Use rubbing alcohol with food coloring to check the seal when you're done.

there is quite a big gap in some of them, its definetly going to need a valve job...
