Its been done, someone put a 4G63 (LHS mount) and gearbox into a GE 626....

I saw the photo on this site but cant remember where.....Its sacrilege tho, I think Mitsubishi is like the enemy....

Plus I had a 4G61 powered Lancer (colt) in 1991 and the engine expired spectacularly after a mere 65kkm..bad designed piece of junk 'cos the oil pump was driven off the timing belt on the tension side.

Dont see many on the road now, which tells me something.

the FE3 (FE-DOHC) and 4G63 are similar in design. The head is better in the 4G63, but the 4G63 has a crank walk problem.

no way is the 4g63 head better! for [fizzle] sake it has rocker arms making agressive cam profiles a real task and the exhaust ports are poorly shaped
fe3 far superior

I'm with fraud on that. However, there are more than one "4g63" heads too. Also, the 4g63 classic head has enormous ports which like the early 4age "big port" hurt flow for most applications.

wow another uneducated dumbass statement, not every 4g63 has crank walk. Only the early 7bolt designs were doomed with crank walk.. if it was such an issue the evo's would be doing it too however they dont, and neither do the 6 bolt 4g63 either

6 bolt 4g63>Fe3 no doubt about it
