f2t disty in a fe3

I know I saw a post or thread about this somewhere recently, but I cannot find it. What all is needed to fit the f2t distributor in the fe3 and who wants to sell me the parts to do it? (already have the f2t disty, fe3 one is gone) I'm trying to speed up progress on my swap and get it running already, its been way too long.

let me check into my junk, i might have saved the one i had from evo626 that was already modified. if i still have it, you can have it for 20-30 bucks

from what i understand all he did was take it to a machine shop and have them extend the arm cause the cam sits in there a bit deeper

Yup. I'll have to get the specs on how to make those if zlyricist can't find his.

This sounds like a plan to me then, leaving only ignition left to deal with. I either have to make a bracket to hold an edis coilpack or find a cop solution I like

get on ebay or in the junkyard to find yourself the Kia valve cover and you'll have yourself your mounting points for that edis system I picked up for you. Better yet, get the CAS on the back of the head

Thought about it, but I'd guess that the cas from the kia probably doesn't have enough teeth/slots to be the main timing source. (since it uses a toothed wheel on the crank too) I'm also leaning towards the ford EDIS packs since they are easy to replace, larger, and there are an aftermarket for them.

well the next time I see a sportage, I will grab the CAS and crank pulley and sensor if there is one

I can pick up an edis pack for you if you'd like. I thin I can get them for about $15 or so. I still need to a machined ring to somehow stick on the crank pulley so I can run mine.

Any ideas on where the missing tooth needs to be? I remember seeing some engineering drawings of one for the F2 I thought...maybe from STW?

The sportage actually has the crank sensor wheel machined into the flywheel, so its a non swappable item.I was just planning to grab the EDIS coils though, not the whole system, so I don't need the crank wheel or sensor. (also I already have a pack laying around I purchased a while back) Still interested in the CAS though, just to document it for mx6.com

Missing tooth is 60*BTDC if I recall correctly.
