simple FE3 conversion advice

hey guys

ive reached that time in every mx6ers life when they outgrow the f2t and go the FE3. its gonna be quite a simple swap i think. just had a few questions. i did do some research but i think someone could answer more easily.

i was just going to leave the motor stock. but do the bottom end and then just bolt on all my existing f2t goodies to the outside of the motor.not looking for mad performance just 250hp atw with a better curve.

i was thinking of using the factory crank, rods and pistons from the f2t. but i noticed no-one else has done this. does it cause problems?

also, are the manifolds different bolt patterns?

apart from this, i reckon the swap would be piss easy.

cheers guys

Yeah, they will hit the head.

Yup. If you want to bolt on the f2t turbo, you'll have to fabricate a new manifold.

For that kind of power goal stock rods and pistons would be fine. I am running 265hp atw on stock rod/pistons.

Oh and make sure you get an FE3N or FE5A intake camshaft. The FEAP doesn't hold torque very well to 7k rpms.

Because the deck height is different!

But you wouldn't do that regardless of how little power you wanted because it would choke the engine badly.
