Why do so many of you insist on trying to use FE3 parts on the F2T?

I know I'm going to be flamed madly for this this but this is a trend I have noted for the last few years and I would like to clear up a few things.
First of all you will not find just FE3 parts (ie head, intake,etc...) on there own in the USA. In fact it would be more expenise to just order those parts as apposed to buying the whole FE3.

Second although the FE3 and the F2T use similar blocks they are not the same. You will have less head aches if you just use the Fe3 as a wholoe rather than trying to frankinstein an F2/E3/T.

Thrid the FE3 head on the F2T block has been tried with poor results. Once again your better of building the FE3 by itself with out trying to build a monster hybird. It will just blow up in your face.

Fourth, I relieze your trying to save money but if there is anything I have learned with this car , it is less will always cost you more in the end. You have to pay for performance. The only logical reason I see that anyone would try this is to gain displacement and some of you honestly think its cheaper to just throw the DOHC head on the F2. You will spend more on that than you will to just buy the freaking FE3.

Also I cant stress this enough, because I have learned this though trial and error. The F2/F2T ecu cannot and will not work properly with the FE3. If your going to the swap beware that it is alomst imposible to find the true FE3 ecu AND wiring harrness. You best and really only option is to do a full standalone ecu.

Flame me if you will but this is all coming from someone that has been there and tried it. I hope this helps.

what i think

my guess is that they dont feel that they have the resources available to do the complete swap. so they hope that just a head swap will be enough to get some kind of jump in performance.
I know its not impossible to do, but after looking at it long enough, i really dont think there is any monetary value to be found in this swap.

ok my honest opinion after owning my fe dohc engine for 4 and a half years,

let me put it this way my old car the ford tx5 had the old carby fe in it,i hated the engines looks it just looked like a boat anchor, the thing with me is when i open the bonnet the engines got to look the business.the same goes with the other engines namely f2 and ft although fine perfoming engines they just dont look good enough or offer me what i whant from my engine performance wise.

secondly if you whant performance and you have invested in a fe dohc engine you should buy a aftermarket engine managemant system there is no other proper alternative period....(as evo has found out the hard way)

and you guys live in the worst place for buying your fe dohc engines the price u guys pay is unbeleviable.

anyone hear about the kia stroker fe3 from the kia rally team good for 184 hp apparently, and no i havnt found out how they stroked it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sold my mazda so im mazdaless for now,
currently got my soarer to keep me going till next time.twin turbo time
