1st Gen MX6 GT F8-DOHC Turbo in Miami

I am selling my modded 88 GT Turbo car.
The car drives very well and has no problem at all.

It has a J Spec F8-DOHC engine turboed.
Car will be dynoed soon and pics will be posted.

Asking $1500 (Edited 8/28)

I am selling it because I am moving to Europe.
This is a steal and I am not trying to make profit out of it.

Peace
NSXR

PS: Car will be available for pick up at the end of the month.
PS2: Lots of 1stgen GT parts are included in the price (2 f2t engine block+head + a spare turbo ...)

Here are the specs from the thread on FE-DOHC subforum:

Engine Block and internals:
Stock F8-DOHC imported from Japan
Added oil cooler.

Engine Head:
F8-DOHC head with swapped intake camshaft (F8K1 to FE5A)
Torqued down to 80 ft.Lbs

Intake:
Stock F8-DOHC intake manifold.
1stgenA F2T Trottle body (Slightly different from stock F8-DOHC TB, same size though).

Exhaust:
Custom log design exhaust manifold (DUtch FE-DOHC flange and IHI RHB5 Flange).

Turbocharging system:
Stock F2t Turbocharging system.
IHI RHB5 VJ11 at stock boost + stock intercooler ...

Engine Management System:
Stock F2t EMS.
Modified F2t Distributor
1stgenA GT Injectors (No modification to the fuel rail - direct swap)
VAF from 1st gen.
Added pulsation damper on the fuel rail (The stock f8-dohc didn't have one)

Other performance parts:
Fidanza flywheel
Lightweight f2t pulley (Needs modification to fit)

Basically the whole idea was to fake the presence of the f2t to the ECU. The fuel maps being based on airflow, displacement is not an issue (From 2184cc to 1789cc).

This setup may sound weird for some Standalone lovers but target HP is only 220Hp. Achievable with a boosted f2t so shouldn't be a problem with the F8-DOHC Turbo.

The next upgrades consist of regular F2t upgrade (Tbird upgrade coming soon).

Max boost will be set 12-14 PSI (Engine is 8.8 CR). I have a chipped ECU (Zombie) that I will be using soon.

As Spoolz said the engine feels very diferent from the f2t ... revs pretty fast (Short stroke + fidanza + pulley) ... Feels like a motorcycle engine almost.

Now for f2t lovers, I see u coming and saying that I could get 220Hp with a modified f2t. My answer: I wanted to make this setup just for the heck of it. Plus the behavior of that DOHC Turbo is different.

Peace
NSXR

PS: A big THANK YOU to Spoolz and his brother for making the swap so easy.

So very close... if this was in a 5 door, and I didn't just buy a wagon, I would have paid like. $3k for it, and *driven* down to miami to get it.... shucks.

Well I am going to the west palm beach meet in a couple of week ends.

The car will be shown and I'll try to sell it there.

This car may actually go for cheap since I am leaving soon.

Peace

Take it with you and drop it over California when you get here. I know, I know, but take the long route to Germany.

The F8-DOHC has 1789cc :

bore 86mm (Same as fe-dohc or f2t)
Stroke 77mm (Shorter than the 86mm for the FE-DOHC)

Add a fidanza and lightweight pulley to that and u have a free reving machine.

The BP Turbo has 1840cc:

bore 83mm
Stroke 85mm

Peace

I'll be honest with ya... my first Miata is the only one that actually cost me more than $500 lol

Miata number 2 I got for $200.

Numbers 3 and 4 I got for $500. This is all over a long period of time. About a year and a half. And yes, 3 of the four are running, but the 626's are not as of right now.

Hell, the fricken battery on my Good miata exploded tonight

Oh, and that good paying job... Full time driver for UPS
