I was expecting a 200whp daily driver with this setup, you can push a more but I would recommend a engine build. Speaking of a engine build it can be had relatively cheap with parts made for the Mazdaspeed protege. The car pulls pretty good with the short runners on the turbo manifold and the size boost is hit almost instantly.
What really sucks about letting this car go is all the time and money I've invested in it. I have put a lot of new parts into this car hoping to use it has a daily driver or weekend car. All of the expensive maintenance has been taken care of brake, cv joints, water pump, timing belt, drive belts, flywheel, and clutch. Also for a car from 93 it has seen a decent amount of mileage less then 100k. I bought this from a nice women in small town in Nebraska, she only sold it because the auto trans was dying. Which I then converted to manual.
The fuel, engine management and turbo system are quality top of the line. Only brand names were used such as Garret, Autometer, Innovative and JGS; none of the parts are cheap ebay knock offs. The engine management system pretty much the best thing you can get for this car. You have Megasquirt to run both your fuel and ignition. As well as a Innovative wideband to precisely monitor your engines A/F ratio. The turbo system is no joke either all the intercooler pipes are mandrel bent and welded. Only 3ply silicone couplers were used. The small sidemount intercooler retains the A/C system. The 2.5" downpipe is wrapped in heat wrap to keep the engine bay temps down.
Wow that was more then I expected. Anyways this car could be great with a little TLC. Some cosmetic work, a good tune and a little wiring and it will be perfect. If thats too much trouble the parts are all low mileage just swap everything over to your existing car. I would part it myself but I am pretty busy. It includes a extra block, extra trans and 2 sets of bumps which could easily fetch around 300 bucks.
