A small clicking sounds when first started, but goes away mostly after oil circulates - this has happened ever since I've had the car, for 12 years. Has some rust on the usual spots. The starter doesn't start every time, you have to turn the key a few times on some tries. -Has to have: clutch - it will not come out of 3rd gear, battery (can be jumped off) -Needs: basic tune up, AC (leaks Freon slowly), catalytic converter (the current one is gutted), motor mounts, body work / paint job - there is some paint chipping and a few rusty parts, seat covers, washer fluid light stays on, factory alarm needs to be disengaged - will alert if left on. I am selling this car because the shifting mechanism broke on 04/11/08 (I can't take it out of 3rd gear), on the way home from work. I need to purchase a family auto. This car was totaled on 06/23/2003, but I have had it for 12 years since 06/03/1996 and this car still has a lot more miles to drive. I have tried to post all the big stuff, I could have missed some things though - please ask if questions. Asking $400 or best offer. Contact cyphertek, Ringgold, GA. I am unable to deliver to a location - sorry. 423-902-2344 - if you don't get him, leave a voice mail cyphertek at haxxors dot org Last edited by cyphertek : 6-7-08 at 22:29. so a couple of quick questions
other than stated problems car runs and drives fine? before clutch went... how bad does the sunroof leak? and finally emissions? i see you are in GA??? or TN will this thing pass emission test? and NOW finally is it drivable? i mean can you like force the gears or will it have to be towed? edit: thought of a couple more how is/does it still have the AAS?it will be able to run stock clutch right you havent like upped the boost to the point a stock clutch will not hold right? Looby,
"car runs and drives fine? before clutch went..." > Yes, it has a great engine. It goes to show for the fact that it has 216K miles with a factory turbo. If it was driven hard, the block would have shown signs a while back, fo sho! ![]() "how bad does the sunroof leak?" >The back drain plugs are clogged, so if the car is parked facing uphill in the rain, when it's moved downhill or you hit the brakes, the water will come mostly in the passenger side and some on the drivers side. I always tried to park it facing downhill and it didn't leak nearly as much. There is also a faint bit of left over tape from around the sun roof from when I tried to tape it up one summer, and that didn't work so well. Also the sunroof motor is broken and it won't crank open, (I think it just needs a good cleaning) but the sliding cover works well. "will this thing pass emission test?" >I don't think so, the cat is gutted. I didn't have to pass emissions where I live. "is it drivable?" >No, not from a stand still. It is stuck in 3rd gear, I tried to shift out, but I couldn't get it moved into any other gear. When that issue happened, my wife came and got me rolling with her car and I could drive fine in 3rd ...it's just not shifting from that gear as is. This car should be towed, or if you have to...third gear worked for me...just have someone behind you to help you from a stand still...lols (not recommended) "does it still have the AAS?" >It has the parts but they are not installed, they are in the trunk. When I replaced the struts, I chose the KYBs without AAS. The AAS parts worked before I removed them though. Here are the AAS part numbers > Rear - Upper Actuator, PN: GJ22-28-080A ($161.65 if ordered from dealer) Rear - Actuator Casing, PN: GJ22-28-084B ($10.70 if ordered from dealer) Front - Actuator, PN: GJ22-34-080A ($161.65 if ordered from dealer) Front - Mount Cap, PN: GJ23-34-019 ($6.85 if ordered from dealer) "havent like upped the boost to the point a stock clutch will not hold right?" >A stock rebuilt clutch will work fine, I didn't up the boost anymore than factory settings. When I rebuilt the turbo, I did it with all factory parts so it should have factory boost. Thanks for posting. Last edited by cyphertek : 6-8-08 at 10:47. Reason: wanted same font |

"the tint... uhh..what percentage tint is it"
>The tint is on all windows except the front and driver window. It is 35% which is legal from when I had it done, cause that was my concern too. You can barely see it's tinted on a sunny day. |

Do you have a paypal acct. I will call you tomorrow morning. From the pics alone consider this car sold.
I have been looking a for a new home for my spare 5spd. It most certainly needs a trans rebuild. I have been there, it sux. Especially when you are far from home. At least is wasn't second gear . I got one once years ago that was abandoned with the window down, stuck in second under a car port. |

I fixed the window track back to stock and lubed everything under the door panel and the window is pretty fast considering mileage. Installed a 93mx6 sporty looking steering wheel. The sunroof is currently out, and i hope there is one in the JY when i stop there after work today. AC blows COLD I am tempted to swap seat cushions pass/drvr. heater controls don't work, i have another set. I'll put her back to new. I have a bad feeling that the car is running lean, it hits boost cut b/c it has no bypass valve. It needs a probinator chip. |
