I drive past this car everyday on my way to work and would have snatched it up if my financial situation was a bit different. It's sat there for a couple of weeks, and obviously isn't on this site yet, so I thought I'd give someone from the community the opportunity to buy it.
The odo shows 178,000 and the guy's asking $2000 for it. His phone number is 423-747-7071. If anyone wants me to check it out for them, hit me up on PM.
Apple550 sent me an email requesting more info, so I'll just copy and paste here:
From what I could see just kicking the tires, the driver's seat is in pretty bad shape, and the passenger could use some work. The back seats look pretty good. There are no floor mats and the door cards look like they're starting to do that peeling thing with the leather insert. There are a couple of minor dings, but overall, the paint looks good for a 14 year old car. The rims and tires look nice, except the driver's side front which has had a pretty bad curb rash (I included a picture of it). It has 178,000 miles, it's a 5 speed, and would be an excellent starting point for someone doing a KLZE swap. I think it's well worth the $2000 the guy's asking for it, but he lowered the price after a week from $2400. I'd offer him $1500 as a starting point. Probably sell for $1800.
At the request of apple550, I took a closer look and test drove the car.
It runs and sounds great. The underside of the hood is clean and there are no drips from the engine. There was a new timing belt and water pump put on not long ago, and the CV axles are new too. The trunk struts should be replaced, and the driver's seat and headliner could use some work. The windows and sunroof motors run strong and the A/C works. There's an aftermarket cd player installed that has a removable face. Overall, I'd say it's well work the $2000 asking price.
Alright, my friend and I are going to have tho check this out this weekend. Really glad to hear that those axles have been replaced, was worried about them being bad.
