99 Audi A4 2.8 Tiptronic AWD winter beater (Toronto, ON, Canada)

1999 Audi A4 2.8 Tiptronic all-wheel drive, volcano black pearl exterior, ivory leather interior. Leather seats are in excellent condition with no rips or tears. Car is completely stock as far as I know except for the DEPO headlights and tinted windows. Mileage: 250811 km. I am not the original owner. I've had the car for a few years and used it exclusively for poor weather driving. Selling because I have too many cars.

Bad things to note:

1. Exhaust recently separated, so the car is a total aural blast the moment it's turned on.
2. If you like rust, this car is for you. There is rust forming almost everywhere.
3. A distinctive noise indicative of water pump failure may cause further ear ache.
4. When you turn the steering wheel, a grinding noise is created, probably a power steering pump or rack problem?
5. Missing trims pieces at bottom of both front doors, and bumper insert driver side.
6. Central power lock pump is defective. The car alarm can be activated, but the doors will not lock.

Asking $2500 OBO as is.

Drive it as a winter beater or buy it for parts.

You can see from this side profile where the exhaust has separated.

God damn that thing is beat. One of the guys I used to work with had a 98 and he loved it to death. I've never seen one rust like that.

Just keep it for the winter and...

Good luck with the sale though.

Here's a lovely picture from the other side that shows the exhaust separation. Oh snap, these 2 wheels are missing centre caps!

New price: $2400 OBO.

Someone tells me a $25 clamp is all that's needed to fix the exhaust. I'll lower the price and let the buyer deal with it.

New price: $2300 OBO.

Look at that fine ass!

The rust is mostly of the surface kind. There are no holes in the floor that I'm aware of. Don't be afraid of rust. Think of it like wrinkles that come naturally with age.

New price: $2100 OBO.

I don't remember the last time I've given the interior a proper detail. The leather is very good for the mileage (no tears, etc.) and will look better after a deep clean.

Car comes standard with Audi's usual electrical gremlins: ABS light on, Airbag light on, and a 3rd light that looks like an exclamation mark (this one indicates the car is full of excitement!)

New price: $1900 negotiable.

Frontmost part of the wood-look trim on front passenger door is missing:

The car is sold as-is, not certified nor e-tested. The buyer will have to bear the cost, whatever it be, should s/he decide to make the car legally roadworthy.

New price: $1700 negotiable.
