New product: Rear lower tie bar for 1st gens. If interested please respond here.
They will be as strong or stronger than the factory piece, laser-cut from 10ga steel, bent on a CNC brake, and powder-coated black. I need at least 20 people to do this. Price is $31.50 shipped
It will be a nice high-quality item. This will give you an idea of what the part will look like, it's a drawing I hastily drew up and sent them a couple days ago:
Please don't respond unless you are interested. I'm not looking to get into an argument about the effectiveness of a rear tie-bar or any other stupid issue.
So far the list is:
Nikon
AdderMK2
NBProbe
RickPerryGT
thanks,
James

It will start as a flat pattern cut from 10ga steel sheet by a laser, then the piece is bent into the channel shape by a Computer-Numerical-Control brake, then it will be powder-coated black. It will be nice I promise.

It will be plenty strong. If you melted it into a ball it's about 12 cubic inches worth of steel. But steel is only .283 lbs./cu.in so it will only weigh a bit over 3 lbs. It will have a high benefit to weight ratio.
