My Dash In Progress (Now Completed!)

Haven't seen anyone else do this but I really like it. Moved the Climate control into a DIN location. I think this is the perfect location for it.

Still have lots of work to do in the interior before I have everything finished the way I want it.

Looks good, I assume your making a gauge pod where the controls used to be? Also, how difficult was it to move the controls to where they are now?

Wasn't too bad using a Dremel. Grinded down the DIN slot, the climate control and a little bit from the plastic panel that covers it. Will take more pictures of everywhere that I cut and grinded. It was a tight fit. ALMOST didn't fit.

I like it!!!
I've thought about doing something like that myself, but can never really find the time. I think my next project will be an embossed headliner, as soon as I figure out whats wrong with my car...

I've seen pics on here where people move the climate control all the way down to the ash tray. Anyone still have those? I don't think they had to extend any wires either, just cut some electrical tape loose. I think that's what I'm going to have to do. Yours looks great, MetalMatrix!

There is plenty of wire, just needed to snap a clip out.

Just working on the gauge panel right now so will be a couple of days before I remove the climate control and take more pictures.

I am going to add a built in 7" TouchScreen and a 3.5" 9in1 card reader with usb ports (all connected to a carputer) into my dash. I am also going to add a notebook DVD-Rom, the prob is I got very little space to work with due to the screen and card reader...

I am currently playing around with fiberglass in order to improve my skills then I'll mod the dash and spray paint it in silver or white.

Will post whenever I get it done (hopefully somewhere this summer).

Soon, just having my gauge panel machined (being cut) out of plastic. I'll do a write up on the weekend for the climate control with pictures.
