how are you guys going about these color changes. Color balances, hue/sats, color replace, selective color, filters, or a mix of all of the above? I've never been able to catch onto changing colors, like, ever. And its funny cause im by no means a ps noob.

i trace out the layer of color i want to change, make a new layer via copy, adjust the levels/balance to my liking, add color, and layer the copied section on top with a bit of transparency in some cases where i lose some details on the car. thats it in a nut shell, most of the time i sit there and adjust a single set of sliders for 5-10 minutes til i think it looks right. that color is just really hard because there's no definite color to go off of and because of the time that the original picture was taken, there is not a lot of good definition to work with

hey guys,

could a photoshop pro please do me a favor,

there are some pics of my red 6 on page 17 and i was wondering if someone could do the following for me:
- drop it about 1"
- Add mugan sides from a prelude (not molded)
- Intergra Type-R lip (like from the grey car in the lip thread but i would like to see it molded into the bumper)
- j-spec headlights with civic eyelids painted the colour of the car

i know its alot to ask but i would love to see it b4 i invest in it

Repost the pic of your car and pictures of the items you want photoshopped onto it, and you'll probably get your PS done a lot quicker. That way you're not making the people dig around to find stuff to photoshop for you.

im not looking for [shizzle] anymore. and if they are terrible pictures to use, it might not get done



heres some key point for future reference to any member making posts on this thread.
1)make sure you have a good picture of your car. from my experience/preference bigger, more detailed pics are better
2)find decent pics of what you want shopped on your car (i.e. rims, lights, kits, etc)
2.5) on items like that, if they are at a really awkward angle compared to the angle the picture of the car was taken at, it will probably look off.
3)on color shops, find a GOOD picture of the color, don't say "i want X color of of X car from X year", im not looking for pics anymore and im sure others wont want to either

I thought your car was timberline, that's already teh sex on an MX-6.

i had some sympathy because you tried to get good pics, but i ended up having to look for both lip and skirts. remember, the part doesn't have to be on a 6, it just has to be shot at the same, or close to the same, perspective to look right without having to modify it a lot. and the color sucks to but whatever

Ragin, yeah my car is Timberline and we all know that Timberline and Kauai Blue are teh sexors. I just want something a little different. Like I said, I'm not completely set on having my car resprayed this color. It would be a nice change though.

wow thanks alot man, that basically secures what i will be doing in the near future

lip is being shipped from the states hopefully as we type and also some headers and hopefully a hiflo cat if the price is right and then its onto finding some sides

also look into getting a rear lip. one that might look good on that combo is the rear lip of an RS Camaro, i just don't know how easy it would be for you to get a hold of one where you're at
