k, so i checked with them, and they are removing the windows, and I am gonna take the two rear quarter windows home with me, and fix the rubber stripping around them using this tutorial: http://www.mx6.com/forums/2g-faq-app...tted-trim.html (How to - improve quarter glass trim (repair pitted trim))
I also told them to just go ahead and fix the gap issue with the front bumper, which includes laying more fibreglass down to build it up so i properly meets the hood. Hell, I might as well do it all properly, or else I'll regret it. Damnit, I just remembered right now that I was supposed to ask about painting the rims. lol. But other than all that, the car is the sexiest car I have ever seen in primer lol. ![]() |

make sure they are VERY careful removing your quarter glass. They can break. One of mine broke during removal and I was in quite the battle to get it replaced. The shop told me I had to buy it, I told them they of course had to because they broke it. Then I went to the glass shop and they said the shop had replaced it but was refusing to pay them so I had to pay them. In the end the shop ate the cost for breaking my window but it wasn't fun. By the way the quarter glass costs about $450 a side so you can see why I didn;t want to pay
![]() So definitely have it removed but be VERY careful. and the trim around the rear window is impossible to replace without removing the glass, so don't just pull the trim and think your ok. You'll have to pull the window to remount the trim piece. You can get away with leaving the windshield in but it takes some VERY delicate masking and creative ways to hold the trim up... Just a few warnings you may want to pass onto the shop |

Not to mention that the quarter glass is no longer available from the dealer nationwide or canada. They've been sold out for over 2 years.

hmm. thanks for the heads up.
I'll let them know. I'm not too keen on removing the windows anyway. Also, my front bumper came with no hole for the sidemarkers. So, should I put my sidemarkers in the front? Or should I fill in the back ones so there are no sidemarkers? Kansas, what kinda creative ways are you talking about to hold up the front trim piece? Maybe I'll get them to leave the rear window, pull the side quarters, and hold up the trim for the front and do it like that. I just don't want to have to get them to pull all the windows, cuz this is starting to cost me a hefty dollar. Last edited by xtreme17 : 3-14-08 at 2:46. |

Wreckers almost always have them however. They were $45 last time I checked, as that sun peeling thing was driving me nuts. (unfortuantely its a very common problem) |

Need opinions asap:
My front bumper came with no holes for the sidemarkers. So, should I put my sidemarkers in the front? Or should I fill in the back ones so there are no sidemarkers? Also, how the hell do I remove the rear sidemarkers?!?!?!?! There's nowhere to get at them from. Or do they pop out? |

Side markers pop out. Just use a slotted screw driver and watch the body of the car and pry out a corner of the light. It will come out. Last edited by I4MX6 : 3-15-08 at 4:40. |
