working on cars of course . Just thought id share some pics of what we have been up to lately at my friends shop. We just got done swapping a KA24 into a clean shell and getting it running last week. This week we started a new project, one that should be quite interesting
project car:
Combat Coupe
the task at hand:
Notchback SR20det swap (this one has VVT ) with extra goodies going under the hood, one of which being a Turbonetics T3/T4 to replace the potent but minuscule T25, a V-Mount radiator-intercooler setup, and the auto to 5spd swap.
out with the old
almost ready for the new, needs a bit of cleaning first, but we'll do that later
drilling out holes for clutch pedal assembly and fitting pedals
pedals in
time to make them fit
almost ready
FYI, these are a pain to remove
more pics as time progresses, we are waiting for matt to order a clutch, get a new radiator ordered, buy the manifold he needs, order some slim fans, and we might be starting the wiring adventure pretty soon. Just thought id share.

right now its up in the air as to whether or not he re-does the camo or goes with a solid color scheme. We want to do digi cam like ACU's but his girlfriend hates digi cam so that's out the window. The story behind the engine swap and paint isn't that long so i guess i could just explain it a little. Well the guy who's shop we are working at, his nick name is Camo and this used to be his car, then it was driven for a while by our friend carl, who in turn handed the keys to my friend Matt. Well before an event in Houston, literally right before they left, they decided they needed to paint the car to look better since the whole thing looked kind of haggered, so in honor or Ryan the car went with a Camo scheme. Well to explain the motor swap, at the even Carl was sliding that car and if you look under the car in that first pic you notice some a loose belt and wires. well the belt was an AC belt but we never really noticed it until later. Well matt bought the car after the event, drove it for a couple days, and was on his way to Ryans shop to fix some other problems when it started to get hot then the belt got caught around the crank and seized the motor, no less than 5 miniutes from the shop. So he finally got a loan, ordered the motor, and here we are with a motor that will scream pretty soon
